Thank you . We needed help on a weekend when no one in Binghamton offered emergency care. We were greeted and treated by such special staff. Everyone of you needs to smile, you’re the best. My dog was put to sleep with gentleness and compassion . I’d recommend VCA to any one asking .

We traveled one hour to bring our precious boy Nash for hip surgery. I can’t say enough good things about the staff and the care we received. Dr Thorne was our first point of contact and she was so compassionate, thorough, and loved our Nash. Dr Socha has been fantastic from the follow up phone call post surgery to each follow up visit. We appreciate all he did to heal our boy. Serenity (tech) is the sweetest and incredibly thorough. I will never take Nash to another vet after having this experience at VCA. We are incredibly grateful to everyone on staff!

In late August of this year, I brought Fitz to Colonial at the recommendation of our primary vet, Lake Road Animal Hospital. The initial appointment was to evaluate a fairly large mass that was on Fitz's left shoulder; the mass was concerning, unfortunately, and our vet did not feel comfortable performing surgery without a second opinion. Hannah from Colonial quickly set up a consult appointment with Dr. Rassnick in Oncology; she sent me emails with all the information I needed to get Fitz ready for his appointment, and also sent me a text confirming the details as well. During this initial appointment with Dr. Rassnick, I immediately felt comfortable with VCA and trusted the process that was laid out in front of Fitz and I. Dr. Rassnick was able to confirm that the mass could be removed without taking a limb/muscle tissue, and we started the process of getting a consultation setup with the surgeons. In October, Fitz and I met with Dr. Socha for a surgery consultation. Dr. Socha was quick to confirm that the mass could be removed without taking a limb [confirming Dr. Rassnick's statement] and said that we could get scheduled for the next day. Without hesitation, the appointment was confirmed and I took Fitz home to relax before his big day.The following morning, I dropped him off to the warm welcome of reception; the nurses came and picked him up, and they kept me in the loop throughout his procedure. It went by quickly, and other than an overnight stay for monitoring, everything went as well as I could have hoped. Dr. Socha followed up with me later that day to confirm he was able to remove all of the mass and leave enough healthy tissue in place to restart healing; they were also able to remove a small cyst that was on his ear.The next day, I met with a nurse to go over Fitz's discharge instructions. Daily cleaning of the incision, emptying a drainage tube and measuring the amount of fluid within, keeping him well rested, antibiotics twice a day, etc. It was daunting, but the staff at VCA were so helpful with reassuring me that it wouldn't take long to get Fitz back to normal. Within a week, Fitz had his drainage tube removed, and his incision healed quickly thanks to following the instructions of the nurses.Fitz is now all healed, and aside from the lack of hair where he was shaved, you can barely tell he had anything done. I can't thank VCA enough; from reception, to the nurses, to the doctors themselves, for making our first visit as pleasant as possible. You've given my old man another chance at being the silly yellow lab he's always been.Thank you so much for all that you do!

I’ve always had excellent service at VCA Colonial. My pets have always received exceptional care and their hours of service fit our needs as they’re available after hours for emergency services which I’ve had to use more than once. I first started going there many years ago upon recommendation from my primary Vet for further diagnostics on my first Golden Retriever. Their service and compassion was great then and still is. The prices for services are fair and the staff is always friendly!

I want to express my heartfelt thanks to the team at Colonial Animal Hospital for their exceptional care during my recent visit with Roy. As a fellow veterinarian, I appreciate the professionalism and compassion demonstrated by everyone I interacted with, especially when delivering difficult news.Dr. Eule's empathetic approach made a challenging situation more bearable. Despite the tough news, he took the time to address my concerns with clarity and support. My visit not only exceeded my expectations but also provided exceptional compassion during a difficult time. I wholeheartedly recommend it to fellow pet owners.

Initially, I thought my review for this hospital would be a 5. Everyone was very kind and we were seen almost immediately. I left feeling very positive about our experience. However, things changed. We were on vacation when our dog began acting strangely and was having a hard time walking after a fall. She was given a clean bill of health, which was such a relief to us. She passed away about 6 hours later. I emailed the hospital when I got home and I received a nice voicemail from the doctor we saw who said for me to call back so we could discuss any questions I had. I’ve made attempts via phone call and email, none of which have been responded to. This has been such a shocking and heartbreaking time for us, and being ignored by the facility that treated our girl last when looking for answers to me is unacceptable.

This place is amazing. My cat broke his leg. I had no where else to go, I called everyone. They were willing to bring him in to give him surgery. They were so wonderful. I appreciate them so much. If I lived down here they would be my primary care for my cats. Come here if you want your animals to be cared for genuinely

We were far from home on vacation when Luke Skywalker began showing signs of distress. Colonial got him in immediately and the entire staff was compassionate, caring and thorough in his care. A surgery and two-night stay later, and our little man was ready to come "home" to the RV. Now home in CT, he is doing well and his recovery has been easy, which I credit to the skilled Colonial team. Thank you so much!!!

I and my cat were treated with the upmost care, for a difficult situation. Not only by the vets, but by the receptionists. There are two rooms one for cats and one for dogs to play in. Outside, there is a small hill that you can walk your pets on. It is a wonderful facility with wonderful people.

Thank you for your service. The only facility (Cornell was on pause, whatever that means) within an hour of Binghamton to assist with humane care for a mortally wounded pet. I commend your commitment to the families and veterinarian care that you provide.

VCA Ithica Client manager and operations manager both need to learn a lot about what is entailed in regards to running a smooth, dysfunction free Emergency Hospital for pets. Cold and all business they made excuses for why my daughters 5 wk kitten was shipped off for cremation when she requested twice to view her before she was to be picked up. Two different employees told her they would keep her for viewing there before pick up and when she showed up to see her kitten, she was already picked up for cremation. I had to ask the Client Manager to call the Cemetery to hold the cremation till my daughter could view her, but she took her time calling when time was critical and knowing this would happen because of experiencing dysfunction already, I called myself to prevent more dysfunction from making things totally a nightmare.Managers have no people or humanity skills, and lie to cover for their employees mistakes but its usually the Veterinarians that make the business go and are caring unlike the business managers. VCA is a INVESTOR BUSINESS FIRST which explains the type of unqualified people they hire to work there. The Doctors there are the compassionate ones and deserve a thank you for what they do...

Great place to take your pet. Staff was amazing! Very helpful and explained everything the whole way. My dog had surgery on his front paw due to a break he had that was never fixed. (by his previous owners) Dr. Socha was amazing! Everyone there took great care of my baby. Thank you VCA!

We were suggested VCA Colonial by a neighbor and we are so glad we went. Dr. Harris treats our dog with such compassion and care. He is an anxious dog but she makes him feel comfortable. Thanks to her, he loves going to the vet.

The app is useless. It can't be used to get refills, send messages or anything after business hours. The vets are OK but this business model is awful. They can't break out of it, won't fax prescriptions to online pharmacies, don't check their messages regularly, can't seem to get all my pet's vaccines done at once "because they aren't due yet" (due in a week but computer doesn't show that) and it costs $700 for a well visit but less than that for urgent care. Wtf.

After our visit to my dog's local vet last week on Wednesday, we found out he needed to get a referral for surgery. We left the appointment unsure and nervous of how long we would have to wait before we were able to get him in anywhere. By the time we got home from the appointment (~25 min later), the vet had gotten him into VCA Colonial for the following day. We had very positive and helpful experiences communicating with the staff what had been going on and he was admitted for his surgery consult. Unfortunately during his consult, they found out he had the dreaded bloat (GDV) and called to let us know the imminent surgery that needed to be fixed while his other surgery needed to be put on hold. They explained the situation concisely and quickly and called to update us after the procedure that everything went well. The entire staff have been very kind and communicative throughout the whole process both through call and their helpful text line! I know they are a super busy place so it's amazing the care they are able to show to every pet that needs it. The only downside is we are located ~1.5 hrs away. However, for the care that my dog has received it is well worth the trips!
