This is a small branch of a health food coop; there are two other (larger) branches of this coop in Ithaca. There are some tables and chairs for sitting and eating, though they offer only some vegan food for grab-and-go.

The staff is 6 stars, often going the xtra mile and a half to answer our needs n concerns. Customer service alone, plus membership benefits, puts Green* above n beyond regular for-profit grocery stores.Lets call it GREENSTARZ.

If you have food sensitivities of any kind, don't go here. I ordered a custom wheat free cake with their order form, which consists of drop-down menus being explicit that there is wheat free vanilla cake. I spent the rest of that day in the hospital. Turns out they didn't have wheat free vanilla as an option, so they just used wheat-containing cake mix instead and didn't notify anyone about it. I only found out because we called the store. This is dangerous. The lack of follow-up, especially since we ordered on a Sunday and couldn't get any response from anyone who knew what was going on until today, was insane. If I had eaten any more of that cake, I would have been in a lot more trouble than I already am.GreenStar may say it's allergen friendly, but it's not. Please be careful.

I was in Downtown Ithaca and stopped in here for some fruit.Pretty small store, just down the hill from Cornell University, and really, the only market that I saw in this area. The prices here were a little higher, probably because of that.I didn't stay in here long, but the checkout folks here were so nice that it actually stood out to me!!

The most convenient location to get quality groceries near the Commons, with some paid street parking across the street.

This is a mini (bodega version) of the bigger, grocery store up the street. If you are around the Commons and need something quick and organic, this is your spot!

It was good. If you like to support local food producers, it is the right shop. I like bread. Awesome!

If you're only trying to buy *bacon*, no need to go to a giant grocery. I crumble it into corn muffins.

It's sad how much GreenStar has changed over the years. It alright, you can find good food if you search hard enough. They still have a few veggie options and lots of organic and diet options. Too bad they are hell bent on supporting animal slaughter houses and they spread it throughout the store. Oh well it's still better then the corner store.
