Professional service offered in time to file a return. The processes get better each year thanks to their web-based system. I do not have to send copies of documents by fax anymore.

I went to H&R Block after years of preparing my own taxes with the TaxAct software. I wanted to simplify my life and have a professional eye on my returns this year. The numbers came out about the same, and the preparer was reasonably nice, but after they collected their fee, they shipped me over to some 3rd party website where I had to figure out how to make a payment to both the Feds and NYS. The Fed part was easy, the NYS part was not. I wrote for an explanation on how to make the NYS payment, and received no reply. I figured it out myself, not too terribly difficult, but it is H&R Block's (and Connie's) lack of communication after I payed them that leads us to this one-star review. If you need help with your taxes, I would recommend going elsewhere. No support when you need it from the Blockheads!

My agent Connie always quick with my taxes; I submitted my taxes at almost the last minute and she still was able to handle it. Also they get me money back and only cost me less than $200 which I don't have to pay; I just have them take it out of my refund.
