I hired Nathanael to assist me with packing and loading a truck for an interstate move and they sure did move mountains for me :-). They fit me into their schedule during the busy moving season of late July and gave me clear information with what to expect through the form to complete to obtain a quote.
When the work began, it was clear that Nate has a lot of experience and knowledge with packing and truck-loading strategically. My truck was so organized and my items were well cared for.
Tommie, Nate’s associate, did a great job for us as well. Thank you so much! I felt great about the money I spent on this job with this company.

Nate helped me out twice this summer on very short notice...I am really grateful for his kind and smart leadership in game planning and helping me out when absolutely no one else was available. I appreciate a reliable and responsive mover...they are precious and few. Thanks, Nate!

EDIT Nate did contact me finally today, about a week after we initially spoke. So I will bump this up again by one.
I bumped this up by one star because I don't feel it's fair to rate a business as only one star when you have not directly experienced their services but I will say the customer service is severely lacking. I contacted Nate three times after initially talking to him about my move and filling out the form he emailed, only to be met with silence. If you are too busy to answer the phone/emails, hire an assistant so people can at get their questions answered and finalize their plans. Moving is stressful enough without such poor communication. This seems to be a recurring issue judging from other reviews. I guess he doesn't need my business. I have found a different company in the meantime.

I had a great experience with Mountain Movers the first time I used their services. However, my second experience was drastically different. My partner and I were shocked when they stopped responding the day before our scheduled move. We had already rented a moving truck, relying on their commitment to help us on 07/19, but they completely ghosted us. It appears others have faced this same issue, as noted in previous reviews. This was extremely disappointing and forced us to spend significantly more money than planned, as we had to scramble to find other movers on the day of our move. I strongly advise against booking with these movers! They clearly do not care about you or your money. I am shocked this is how they treat customers.

The greatest moving company in all of upstate NY. Ithaca is lucky to have a moving company like this nearby. These folks packed and loaded our entire 2 bedroom apartment down multiple flights of stairs very quickly, and everything arrived in perfect condition! We had no experience packing/moving, so having a crew with Nathanael in charge was really helpful. TVs, computer, desks, everything arrived perfectly.
10/10 would recommend Mountain Movers!

Mountain Movers earned my highest rating ... 5 GOLD STARS. The job: packing and moving c. 100 one-of-a-kind artworks downstairs, into a moving truck, unloading and unpacking. Owner, Nate Katsiane, prepared for the move by asking all the right questions and carefully listening to my concerns. The objects were heavy and delicate at the same time ... and irreplaceable. The movers took great care every step of the way. TOP QUALITY WORK at a VERY FAIR PRICE. On top of all the above, it was a pleasure to have them in my home. I will certainly hire NY Mountain Movers again!

Genuinely such nice and trustworthy guys. Down to earth, local business, work quickly, communicate well. They do things properly and go out of their way to wear shoes or take them off etc to respect your home and culture. I've moved several times in our area and they are by far the best movers I've had.

Nate and ‘Sunny’ (sorry if I mispelled name) were amazing! Was able to squeeze me in for a last minute move request. Seemed to have a lot of experience with troubleshooting… was able to squeeze in our huge couch by removing a screen door and putting it back together. Helped with furniture assembly. Made a hectic moving day that much easier! Competitive pricing as well. Thanks guys!!

Nathaniel was able to schedule our move for the exact date and time we needed the movers to come. The price we felt was fair and reasonable for the amount we needed done. He was very easy to work with. The two men who came to move me and my roommate were prompt, very courteous, so gentle, and careful with all of our belongings and did such a fine job. I can't say enough nor can my roommate about Sadiq and Dominic. They were phenomenal!!! Such nice, sweet, personable, capable young men. I can't say enough good things about them!

I have moved several times in the last ten years, and these guys were the best movers I've ever worked with. Friendly, professional, and efficient. They moved a ton of heavy furniture into a weirdly shaped house, navigating tough stairs and hallways, with no problems at all. They made it look easy — totally calm and relaxed, which is exactly what you need during the stress of moving!
