Store is open until midnight but I couldn’t buy garbage stickers at 9:30pm. According to the clerk you don’t sell them at “this” hour. Why? I’ve bought them before at the registers after customer service desk is closed. Makes no sense. Is it illegal to sell them that late? If not, please fix your policy!

Although they have great products and prices they need to update the self service registers. It's not registering the weight properly and not registering the coupons and some payments!!

Tops Friendly Market more like tops rude market. The general manager at the triphammer location is rude as can be. I called this location to cash my check and they told me there customer service department closed at 8pm when I showed up there at 7:40 the general manager was there selling a can of formula I asked him if he could cash my check and he got a snarky attitude. This is not the first encounter I’ve had with this manager at this location and him being rude. I will no longer visit this tops location for anything again considering nobody is on the same page and everyone in that store that worked the has snarky attitudes towards customers which is really cute.

I like Tops! Decent selection of health-foods. Clean, upbeat, and not too crazy big. It's just chill and friendly in my experience.

Shopping at Tops is great, many food selection and great produce. When it gets busy not too many cashiers open, but they are working very hard and quickly. One thing that gets me is that customers aren’t bagging their own groceries, even if there are 2 or 3 people there able to pack bags. They watch the cashier pack as quickly but complain that it’s too heavy and make here in pack and then repack in a different bag. Which would make other customers wait even longer. Let the cashiers pack if you don’t want to, i’m sick and tired of reading all these reviews you have about the cashiers and how they don’t help, they get stressed too and they get help doing all this. Yes, they are low on cashiers during the day but if you can’t be patient with how they are working, go to the self check out maybe then you will be able to see what they have to deal with.

The pharmacy at the Triphammer Tops exceeds expectations! Penny and Tina go out of their way to service their customers. A big thank you for all that you do to meet the needs of the customer.

Tops, triphammer road,, Ithaca:Food and selection is good but my main issue over and over is the difficulty with machines and personnel on checkout. I have no problems with self checkout at target and wegmans. At tops, I put my bag down and it says remove item and scan first. I remove and scan, and it says place it in bag area when it is already in bag area. It calls for help and after staff fixes it, it starts problems again and freezes. There are 3 staff 3 feet from me and I need to call their attention because no one is looking at customers. They are talking among themselves and not interested with customers. One says to me, "your machine" froze" and they do nothing. They don't say they will help or they don't know what to do and will get help. So I leave the machine and go to cashier who is talking to another cashier on another line and proceeds to put 10 cans of vegetables plus a half gallon of milk plus a quart of cream all into one bag with the cartons of milk lying on sides under cans. It was about 30 lbs. And he continued to talk about personal things to another cashier.Never would that happen at wegmans! The self checkout machines aren't calibrated at Tops, the staff aren't trained and it is management's fault. Don't tell me they can't get good help. What they can't get is good managers who train people properly and who show how to work hard and smart by modeling. Oh. This cranky old man writing this complaint was manager of sales training at a large corporation.

Been shopping here for 20 years and for the most part it is a good store. Sometimes not always the best prices - but usually very competitive. Produce section is rather small in comparison to other places (like Wegmans) but they have all the basic essentials. I will say, however, there is one employee in particular who is always grumpy, always talks in a rude tone, and is not very helpful at all. You can usually find her sitting near the self checkout lanes. Other than this one employee ALL my other interactions with other employees over the course of 20 years have been very friendly and positive. This one employee sticks out as the exception. So much so that I am surprised she still works there. I get it that work isn't always a great place to be -- and I get it that dealing with customers can be annoying and frustrating sometimes. But to ALWAYS be in such a sour mood -- it is just very off-putting. After one particular interaction with her that really got me fuming, I now try to avoid her at all costs. Previously whenever I dealt with her I tried to be extra friendly toward her to try to counter-balance her rudeness and moodiness. I'm pretty sure everyone knows who I am talking about. She's not happy working there. And she shouldn't be in a customer-facing role. If you aren't going to fire her, at least reassign her so she doesn't have to deal with people -- she's clearly irritated by us customers. It tarnishes the rest of the store and the employees who have always been extra helpful and extremely friendly. She is the one exception.

This place is ok if you live in Lansing and don't want to drive down to Wegmans or the Co-op. It's great if you just need frozen foods, non-perishables, or beer. The produce hasn't been great on any of my visits, which is the main reason I wouldn't rate it higher. Overall, it's a decent, average grocery store.

The cow cashier needs to be trained on greeting customers. "You have a bonus card" doesn't sound anything like "Hello, how are you?". It might be she needed another box of donuts before leaving the farm

The store manager is EXTREMELY arrogant and quite frankly I’ve never run into anyone as patronizing and egocentric as HE!!! I understand his job needs to be done, however it also should be done in a PROFESSIONAL manner! I was in the store too long for his liking with out purchasing anything due to trying to escape the heat and kill some time! Although I even told him if he felt the need to check my bags then to do so,he snidely commented and walked off and as he did so I said, “wtf that’s ridiculous”, not even addressing him but speaking to someone next to me! He then proceeded to kick me off the property!!! Well done sir, Tops will no longer be a store myself or my family will be shopping at! Have a great day!!

I've had a handful of times we're the employees where pretty rude. Don't work at tops if you can't deal with people. One time I was at a self checkout having issues with the card machine and this employee comes over to "help". She knew very well that I needed help and then decides that she just wants to go on break. To all tops employees, relearn basic customer service and you wouldn't be having as many people complaining.

Love that their open late, makes it easy for me to get dinner after work and a couple needed groceries. Forgot to catch the woman name but she is kind, very helpful. The store is always organized and cleaned. Their fresh meals are great, although for me personally I got sick from the BBQ brisket mac n cheese. Love their fresh fruits as well.
