These people showed up to our driveway on the scheduled day and called us to say they couldn’t move our stuff. They said our driveway was too steep, even though when we had warned them of this concern weeks prior they had said it wouldn’t be a problem. I look outside and see that it’s the same size truck as what I myself have driven down our driveway without problem. As I walk towards them to explain this, they drive away. I called and they said their truck gets stuck easily, apparently more easily than a U-Haul rental of the same size.

Have used Zolar for 20 years. Moved many times. Great movers. Know what they are doing. Took great care of my furniture. Would not want to use anyone else. Always within estimate no extra charges.

I was disappointed with this company. They broke 2 of my cabinets and then had the nerve to ask for a tip! One of the guys did nothing but complain within earshot of me.

Zolar has handled some pretty nutty jobs for me over the years-woodstove on top of six inch hearth? Done. Move office into kitchen and back again? Done. An Ithaca Institution-Highly recommended.

First, showed up an hour late in the middle of frigid weather while I had people there with my plants in their car, keeping them from freezing. Their excuse for showing up late? They decided to take a lunch break, and reeked of booze. Not beer, but liquor, especially the "supervisor". Secondly, one used my antique end table on top of his dolly, in order to stack up boxes. Third, they dropped fragile boxes, breaking a writing box my father made for me, his last present before his death. Also broken was the wooden box containing cremated remains, and various ceramics, glass, and wooden objects. An antique eye glass for clearing debris from eyes, been in the family for generations. Glass in picture frames destroyed. The boxes were marked fragile, but I saw them drop fragile boxes. Some items are just not replaceable, and were objects that held great sentimentality to me. I have boxes yet to unpack and I cringe before each box even though items were wrapped with great care and I used quite a bit of air packing material to cushion items that were fragile or delicate, which were wrapped in tissue paper and bubble wrap. As I watched this moving process, it seemed my items were not treated with respect. There was one young man who was the antithesis of the other three movers. He didn't smell like booze, actually asked me where I wanted certain things, and showed care in the handling of my belongings. He deserves 5 stars, it's sad that the other three dragged it down to 1 star. That 1 star is a gift, as this company deserves a negative rating. Customers be wary and forewarned.

This place should get negative 5 stars. Do NOT use this company. Their rates change from person to person, they tried to charge me $3,000 dollars to pack up a two bedroom ranch home, stated they could move me next week and when I went to book the job, they stated they couldn't move me for another 20 days! They were sexist and treated me like a moron. DO NOT USE!
