From 2008-2012 I attended EIMA for vocal/harmonium & violin. The exposure and knowledge of culture, value and overall a love for sound and music followed me to my adult career. I am now back again, learning sitar. EIMA has and continues to be a staple in my life. Living in NYC, we often hustle and search for time to unwind, and relax. Well, attending EIMA classes is my time to unwind, learn something new (and have fun.) You’re never too old to start classes in something you’ve always wanted to do, and I’m happy I joined back as an adult to do so.

East Indian Music Academy,My daughter has been attending the academy about two years now, this has changed a lot in her life, she's now understanding more about our culture, the songs that she learned was explained in fine details, learning the meaning of the songs was very impressive. This academy is a great for all ages. The graduation is so beautiful, looking at all the kids receiving their awards and certificates is overwhelming, I would definitely recommend this school to anyone. The teacher are awesome here, very helpful and friendly, not forgetting how tidy it is,

The East Indian Music Academy, better known as E.I.M.A, is a wonderful, welcoming atmosphere for children and adults to learn the beautiful art of East Indian Music. The staff makes the school an extremely friendly, easy learning environment & scheduling is very flexible. The teachers go step-by-step & the pace they teach at is just perfect!

This school is doing wonderful things for my daughter. She has been attending for more than five years and I can clearly see the positive impact it has on her. EIMA is one of the most unique music schools out there as it has a variety of music lessons. I highly recommend signing up. You can sign up for yourself or for your children/grandchildren. It will only leave a positive impact.

I’m a Tabla student for the past two years at EIMA. This school was established some 29 years ago to promote East Indian culture through music, Hindi and other subjects. All ages and levels of learning attend EIMA. It’s a structured environment and the administration work with students to find suitable schedules toavoid conflict between academics and family time. Teaching is done in person or through Skype.Friendly and welcoming atmosphere. No regrets attending this school and love every minute of my Tabla class with instructor Matthew.

My daughter has been coming here for almost 4 months, and has loved it. She goes in person. The cleanliness of the academy is very tidy, and there are a lot of religious things, not just instruments. There is a variety of things that can be taught, therefore I try to push my child into doing better. The staff there is amazing, and the instruments are very good. Therefore, 5 stars is a well rating.

I have been attending the East Indian Music Academy on and off since I was in high school, for harmonium/vocal lessons. I had absolutely no experience playing the harmonium and I was extremely nervous at first. However with the guidance of my teachers I was able to learn how to play and sing well enough to sing at Mandir and family events. I am now a college graduate and have returned to EIMA, because it is a place that brings me peace- just being in the space is calming. I absolutely love attending weekly music class, and as an adult it is a bit more difficult, as I am not as quick to pick it up as I used to be, however my teachers are so encouraging and wonderful, they are so patient and kind that I continuously find my way back to EIMA. I recently got engaged and I asked my teacher to teach me a song that I could sing at my engagement pooja. She and another EIMA student taught me a song over the course of a few weeks, and I was able to confidently sing and play at the pooja, and some of the EIMA students provided additional music at my event as well. I am a huge advocate for EIMA, I encourage students of all ages to visit EIMA and get involved in the classes that they offer.

My child started February of 2020 and he had learned 5 bhajans on his harmonium within 5 months. He had no prior music and singing experience. My son teacher is Diana Ramsamooj she is a very talented musicians; she make sure the children are learning the music accurately. The teachers and staff accommodate children who needs individual attention. Also, East Indian Music Academy was great with remote learning during the COVID-19 quarantine.

Namaste,I hope this review meets you all in good health. I've always admired the sounds of the keyboard and harmonium. I've always dreamed of playing and through the blessings of Bhagwan, my son found East Indian Music Academy and so started my musical journey. I began playing the harmonium and singing about seven months ago. Already I'm playing and singing a few wonderful songs. I have an amazing teacher who I adore, her name is Diana Ramsamooj. She listens attentively and takes her time in teaching, which I appreciate very much. She teaches pronunciation of each syllable in every song making it so easy to grasp. She is truly a wonderful teacher. I wasn't attending the school for very long before Covid came about and then I started virtual classes but the few teachers, staff members and students I've met were all kind and helpful in whatever way I needed help. I couldn't have done this without the support and encouragement of my family. I would like to say thank you to Diana for her words of encouragement every week. Thanks to the founders of East Indian Music Academy (Dr. Ravideen Ramsamooj & Pta. Bharati Ramsamooj) for making this school a wonderful place to learn. I highly recommend this music school.

I have been coming to EIMA since I was like 4 years old. I am 13 years old now. I was stubborn at first to play the harmonium but slowly I started getting the hand of it thanks to the teachers here. I love coming to music classes on Saturday now and my brother and sister come as well. I have a great relationship between the different teachers here at the music school. I enjoy being at this music school and I recommend people to come.

We are extremely pleased with the academic level of music excellence that EIMA offers to our two girls ages 5 and 9 in both harmonium instruction and vocals. The educators, Ms Diana and Ms. Yogini are patient and encouraging. They have high expectations which motivate our girls to practice and strive for better. Thank EIMA for being such an asset to our community. .
