Spilled oil on my lawn over a year ago and never did anything to fix it. I had my landscaper dig up the area and dispose of the contaminated soil and dead grass and replace it with topsoil and seed. I sent the bill to Jennings and Hartwell from my landscaper and they never paid. I had to pay my landscaper and now Jennings and Hartwell will not pay me. They promise a lot of stuff and never deliver on any of it. They are low class lying business and I would not recommend them to anyone.

I wouldnt use this co.. at all their suppose to work with heap customers in a appropriate way. They lie about receiving the checks from Heap and you have to call Heap and jennings back and fourth with the lies. You call them and they suppose to call you back to set up appointments they dont, and when they do call back it is so random that you forget that they suppose to call you.so you forget, they dont leave message if they call you. When you call back to see whats going on receptionist say l'll tell the manager to call you. When the manager call you back and oh I've been calling you but you didnt answer, remember he has your number and its no need to lie.because you need the service, so he attempts to lie again after you make another agreement for another appointment, when that day come he doesn't show up.you call back to tell him you would take further action, then he'll call to tell you ok now what day do you want me to come..you set that up, say Friday he'll say ok call me on Thursday to confirm for Friday. When you call on Thursday no answer so l would leave a message, he doesn't respond so l wait FRIDAY morning until 11something and l get a call and l see its the manager calling l answer and he said hello miss so and so and i said no its miss B he quickly say, oh miss B l'll call you right back and hang up quickly and never call back. I'm not even going back and forth with the company again I'm just reporting them, and they'll never get another HEAP CHECT THROUGH ME, I'M DONE!! SO BEWARE.

This is a very dishonest 0il company, do no make any business with them. Two days ago I bought it 150 Gallons of oil, and they filled my tank only with 100 gallons. Their excuse according to them was that my tank gauge was broken. So, I hire a new company to replace it, and what I have confirmed that they have stolen 50 gallons of oil from my payment. I will dispute this charges with my credit card. Also, be aware that they have this man Larry who comes as a plumber, and he does not even bring tools to fix your boiler, I think he is not a license plumber. Stay away from them, and report them with The better Business Borough or Customer affair to fill out a complain about their horrible crooked service.????

This company is not reliable, when they tell you they are going to do something - they won’t show up. Plus they have an attitude problem when you call them, it’s like THEY are doing you a favor to you. Stay away from them.

This company is a the worst. Lawrence Smalls aka Larry replaced my old oil boiler with a new BSI Gas boiler and did not complete the job. He did not install the proper pipes, there was no permit file with national grid. This company jeopardize myself and family safety. They were paid in full by HEAP program and asked for an additional $500 dollars from myself. I reached out to this company via phone and email several times and The owner Sarah Biven refuses to help me. They are a fraud and continue to rip off disable seniors. Please can someone help me with this matter on who to contact. This company needs to be investigated.

Excellent, dependable Service! Friendly staff! They come out for emergencies and those times when you checked the weather and realize you need to order extra fuel just in case. I am not locked into a contract, and order what I need. I can’t say enough great things about J&H. 5 Stars!!

In the continuing saga in my dealing with this company, Jennings & Hartwell, after they received notice that the check was cancelled, they called in an electronic deposit of my cancelled check over the phone (iDEP) to the bank for more than what was written on the check. This fraudulent activity is now under investigation. MORE to COME... 12/24/2017: The company is now using a collection agency and a bogus attorney to file for the $162 that they claim was not paid to them. Truly desperate move by a desperate operation.

Do not recommend this people, they came to do a regular tune up, and started asking for extra repairs. I went ahead with it, but when they were doing it they switch another part saying that was on the house. THE boiler started to malfunction I called them back for the warranty then they wanted to change the part they gave me. so , 180 tune up , 380 the repair and wanted 350 for the second repair. I try to troubleshoot it myself and it's been working fine since.

As the cold season approaches...whatever you do...DO NOT use this company! Why? Keep reading.... On Jan 14th, 2009 we contacted Jennings and Hartwell (who we had recently signed a service contract with) to inform them that our boiler was not working. They sent a technician (Brian) out to our house 5 times between Jan 14th and Feb 6th. After each visit, we were diagnosed various issues. Two of the four times we were charged exorbitantly for services rendered (even though we have a service contract). Brian never spent more 15 mins with our boiler at each visit. HE was not thorough or diligent in his services to us. Since Jan 14th, 2009 Brian consistently left us in a worse predicament after each visit. The ICING ON THE CAKE happened in mid febraury after leaving us without heat for 3 days (yes! during the snow storm) they advised that "someone" had shut off the water valve which caused boiler to crack and leak. After several unreturned phone calls, Larry finally called us back and advised that (even though they had been at our boiler every week for the last month and as early as last Saturday had installed a "low water cut off ps801-120 which is supposed to uhm.... SHUT OFF THE BOILER WHEN LOW WATER IS INDICATED TO PREVENT IT CRACKING AND LEAKING...we would need to replace the entire boiler that "someone should have advised us when we bought the building that "these things happen". He told us it would cost us between $4,000 to replace our new boiler.... In addition, they wanted us to pretend that there was a phantom person who closed off the valve ... when we all know that they are the only ones (Brian) who had serviced the boiler. Larry refused to take responsibility for their negligence and was basically content to let us freeze as he said there was nothing Jennings and Hartwell could do aside from us replacing the boiler. It was only after we advised them of our intent to pursue this through the court of law and John from Oil for less intervened on our behalf did they come out and fix (yes really fix) the boiler . So while not all the employees at Jennings and Hartwell are incompetent. Brian ABSOLUTELY is. Do not let this man near your boiler!!! Larry exhibited the worst customer service skills when it mattered the most. DO not let him near your house either. I wish I could give them 0 stars because they do not warrant even 1 star!!!! We were so traumatized by this whole fiasco that we converted to a gas system. Try Garafalo Plumbing - Ask for Tony or Ida.... it is a painless amazing experience that will keep you very happy. Customer service is tip top as well!
