I am very unhappy with my moving experience with the moving doctor. Not only I was charged a lot more than what I was told but I found a lot my furniture broken and a lot of my valuable items were missing. I called several times to report my issues and nobody returned my call. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Some of the most unprofessional , disrespectful and rude customer service I have ever experience .. he sid he doesn’t move things out of storage that another company has put in there .. what sense does that make .. I would not use this company if you paid me

Let me be clear - once the truck arrived, the overall experience was great. Getting to that point was nothing but stressful. And, for what it's worth, it was the smallest job possible with just one small couch and end table to move. Pick up on LI, drop off at a storage unit in Westchester County (90 minute drive).
The initial call seemed to be OK; not great, not bad. Set up the time and got the quote, paid the deposit immediately. But subsequent emails to ask about an ETA on pick up time went unanswered. I was finally able to get a call back 2 days before and was told, "I can't find any of your information in our system, can you please tell us again what the job is?" The day before the pick up I had to call again to ask for an ETA on the pick up time and was told, "Probably between 5 and 7pm..." When I said that was unacceptable as the storage unit we were headed to would closed I was told, "No, they usually stay open until 10pm." It wasn't until I clearly stated the full week of hours that I was told a call back would be required to find a time. On my final call yesterday I was told again, "we have a new system and all we have is your name and number; can you tell us again what we're doing?" (In the end I had to repeat the info 4 times, in 4 calls.)
I was told the day before that pick up would be between 9 and 9:30am. At 9:45am no truck, no call. My call to them was what eventually triggered the news that the truck assigned to the job was getting a 'quick repair' and that they had known that since about 8:30am. Why didn't they call at that point? I don't know. The truck finally arrived at the pick up site at 11:45am, arrived at the storage unit at 2:15.
Again, in the end, the crew was great and Danny, the person with whom I spoke with at the end, was apologetic but that doesn't really excuse the lack of overall communication. Maybe, had it been a bigger job, it would have been smoother? Sure was the last time I used them.

Great moving experience! The guys did a great job! Handle al my furniture and painting carefully, very professional and respectful, fast service at a fair price, definitely will call them again for my next moving.

I was screamed at, talked over and belittled as a female when we had an issue during our delivery. My husband calls and suddenly the attitude is gone, the guy is saying sorry and trying to groom my husband's ego apologizing for how he spoke to me. Several items have been damaged and know I have to call and deal with these guys who were already so defensive and verbally abusive. Several boxes and items do not have their itemized tags so we can't even tell if we are missing items. The price we were originally quoted was not the final price. It was actually Several thousand dollars mor3. I even had them come 3x to recheck our items and confirm a quote since we had sent items prior or sold items. The guy who gave us the quote said he was "over doing it on boxes" so that he made sure we had plenty. Well clearly that didn't happen. We had half filled boxes, boxes with no padding or support to which Several items are not broken, chipped or missing chunks of. We haven't even finished opening half our boxes! Added a few of the smaller damaged items in the photos.
I will update after we finish unpacking and figure out all that is damaged and speak with the company about these items. Maybe if it's handled properly without being yelled at my review will increase from 2 stars.

I was so pleased with the moving doctor. They just did a clean out of an estate apartment. They were professional, efficient, pleasant and prompt. I couldn’t be more pleased. Thank you so much for a great experience

They came to my house to do an estimate to move my brother to the next town and clean out the old house. The price I was finally charged after the work was done was THREE TIMES the quoted price! Thousands of dollars above the estimate. Beware!!

This company is a disgrace, and by no means “professional movers.” Their representative, Patrick K., came to our house to assess the move. He assured us that our custom slate pool table could be transported safely without the need for complete disassembly. We foolishly trusted their advice, only to realize later how wrong they were.They proceeded to move the table in one piece, minus the legs, to their storage facility and then our new location, in a box on its side! There was no communication regarding how it was placed in storage. Now after speaking to real professional movers and experts on assembling and disassembling pool tables, we have learned that under no circumstances should a slate pool table be moved in one piece. We have been told that the stress placed on the wood from the slates not being removed has damaged our beloved pool table, and mostly likely has rendered it useless.We are looking to have a pool table expert further assess the damage that was caused, and to do so we need it placed back on the legs. We contacted this company for help, and they said we would have to pay an additional $500 for attaching the legs. After giving us incorrect advice and damaging our property, they still don’t have the decency to own up to their error. I don’t understand why they could not just be honest and say that they do not have experience/knowledge for moving pool tables and could not advise us.In the end, it became painfully clear that we had been ill-advised by a company that has absolutely no clue how to handle valuable, large furniture. For the sake of your sanity and the safety of your cherished possessions, I advise you to STAY AWAY from this poor excuse for a moving company.*Before you pretend this review is fake, please reference order number 36128.**

Our daughter moved locally, 3 miles away. The 3 Moving men were great! They handled all of her furniture with care. Everything was set up where she needed it. No issues. Thanks Moving Doctor!

The Moving Dr was the absolute best choice we could have made for our move from Long Island to Upstate NY! Randy and his crew Arnold, Derwin and Bulmario were just wonderfu! They were super respectful, friendly, kind, and very considerate! My husband has health issues and I had thrown out my back the day the furniture was being picked up and they just handled everything with kindness and without adding more stress. In addition, Randy went above and beyond as he took down our large TV that was literally stuck to the wall which took a very long time and even more patience. We had a lot of furniture, a huge painting and lots of glass that were handed with great care packing and unpacking and placing everything in the new house. The crew even moved some very heavy items we had driven to the house ourselves that would have been very, very difficult for us to unload!We can not thank Randy, Arnold, Derwin and Bulmario enough for making a stressful time much easier!

What a nightmare!!!!My family moved from Long Island to Las Vegas.First, they sent the sales representative -- a nice aging gentleman with a smile who used to be a mover back in the day -- to estimate the cost of our move. He quoted me $7,500 door to door, packing inclusive. Once we showed interest with a down-payment, the estimated price jumped to $11,000. On the Monday morning of the move, when we were at their mercy, they upped the price to $17,000, not counting the tips the workers literally demanded, another $1,100. I gave it to them because I wanted all my stuff delivered, and intact.Fast forward two months and we need them to deliver our belongings. "Our truck won't be there until it gets there" was the response by "Danny", the arrogant uncaring insecure self-centered manager in the Queens office. He even hung up on me twice when I dared become upset!It literally took another week to nail down when this crooked company would arrive with my family's belongings, a week that included a fake truck breakdown for them to buy another couple of days.Finally, when they arrived with their tractor-trailer, they demanded the $5500 balance be paid in cash! As if a cashier's check wasn't adequate! They took the cashier's check, or I would've called the police.Don't ever do business with this company! They are thieves on a grand scale!

If you are ever moving DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use the company Moving Dr. My family felt extremely lied to by Abe. We moved from NY to FL. My family’s stuff was kept in storage for a month before being shipped to us. It’s been five months and we are still missing many items, a lot of which are sentimental. The manager Danny was incredibly rude and whomever the girl I spoke to on the phone was, was also unhelpful. I would not rely on them to get your items to you. I do not feel they are trustworthy based on my experiences and they certainly do not seem willing to help people who have missing items.
