Good watch repair

Overpriced service. $25 just to look at the watch and say “I found the problem”, when I told him what the problem was before we opened the watch. If the problem was different, I would agree for the fee but that is just absurd. In the beginning of my watch hobby, I got scammed by this dude and paid him $400 for a crown stem replacement which should have costed less than $100. For a second repair regarding a rotor and a different watch, I decided to go to another repair guy in main street and he said $150. I noticed i got scammed there, because sam told me it was $360 for the repair. What a shame, scamming 17 year olds by overcharging them. AVOID.

Have been unable to visit Sam's Watch after several tries, the store has not been open. I have several items that needed repair or a new battery. Therefore I went to a different business in Forest Hill on Austin Street and was very pleased with the service and prices they charged.

I Iive in this neighborhood & have been bringing watches & jewelery for repairs here to Sam's since I was a junior in highschool(1989). I'm now 49. Being in business that long already speaks volumes. I don't have any complaints. Many years ago I was having a rough go at it and needs a few bucks and brought some old watches in and he bought them off of me! That was so helpful at the time. Good quality work...I...to this day STILL recommend Sam's!!

I love Sam. He's a bit temperamental and he does things in his own time... but if you come in with a minimum of drama and entitlement attitude he's actually a low key, chill dude. He's an immigrant, runs his own business, has made it work for years. If you are interested in used (vintage?) South Asian jewelery with silver, low carat gold and semi precious gems, he's got that in spades. I've bought some really interesting stuff from him over the years and the prices are fair.he is willing to haggle. I can't speak to his watch repair abilities, but I imagine someone yelling at him about what they expect will get exactly zero progress, lol. He's the kind of guy who would have zero time for a karen.

I've visited Sam a number of times through the years and bought several pieces of jewelry from him that might be termed "ethnic". He has a real mix of new junk and used/ vintage real deal stuff. He's a working immigrant and it seems his jewelry comes from the same type of populations.Don't go to him expecting the finest jewels. Also, leave your attitude at the door because he has no time for your sour moods or sense of entitlement. He's just an old guy who gets right to business and then gets on with his day. I really like Sam. He knows his stuff.

Very disappointing. I had a watch that was running slow and we agreed to replace the movement. The day and date were on "mini-faces" on the main watch face and the month was in a window. This style of movement was discontinued and instead of telling me this, he replaced it with a movement without the month. So the window on the watch face where one would normally see the month just looks down into the movement. "Sorry" was the response when I picked it up. Furthermore, I noticed when I got home that the date and day hands did not rotate. I would have been better off just continuing to reset the time twice a day!

I’ve been to Sam’s watch repair on three separate occasions. Her the torsion yo Ho yo yo have your Casio’s watch battery replaced, an inexpensive watch band or an inexpensive used watch. Sam is from old school mother Russia so he’s not very personable. Good rates are fair for the light work he would perform.

The worst shop I’ve ever seen. Very rude seller person. He’s looking at you like you some sh.t. Very bad service. I gave him my broken ring and necklace, he told me, he’s gonna fixed with gold but it’s regular metal. Color is different. Highest price been charged then it cost. Never go there. He deserve -10. Not even 0

A professional and awesome experience. Large selection of watches and jewelry. The owner even repairs watches. Near many food stops. Close to public transportation. Best of all, more vintage watches than you can stand!!!

Sam told me that my watch needed a new battery. It is a mechanical watch. I would think he should know the difference.

Best place for vintage soviet and other random, ancient (and working) wristwatches. Sam definitely knows what makes watches tick, and how to fix them when they don't ! He´s been at it since 1967.
