My favorite is the peanut butter/chocolate-covered ones. The chocolate-covered oreos and choc chip cookies (yes, they're chocolate-covered too!). There's certainly a very good reason that Gourmet is part of their business name. Everything there is a testimony to how much better things can be with a generous coating of chocolate!Wheelchair accessibility: Plus: Sidewalk-level front door access. We have been coming for at least the past 15 years and this past year we were running a little late and we caught the owner closing up and he stayed open for us and allowed us to get our goodies! “What can I say It's CHOCOLATE!!!And what can be better than that I have been shopping from Gertrude Hawks since I was a kid going with my mom into the store so we're talking well over half a century And now I go there to shop for my children as wellI used to go between Fannie Mae and Gertrude Hawks but then Fannie Mae left our community and Gertrude Hawks remained so it was great because I never had to change and like I said I have been shopping there since I was a kid I never get tired of getting something at least every other month for myself or for my kids!They're chocolates have great flavor great smooth texture even with the crisps involved it's still a great wonderful taste on your tongue.They've moved from different places in our area They were up in the Oakdale Mall (which is now Oakdale Commons) And then I guess they moved from there then they went to the vestal parkway, and then they shut down their store there and they have now moved over to the small little plaza where Michael's arts and crafts famous footwear Old Navy that little plaza there.And it still chased just as good when you walk in there you'll see on the back wall some of the very old old molds that they used to use from years and years and years ago so they still keep up with their current tradition their current methods You will still find everything that changes every year to go with the season or the holidays but yes this is another highly recommended place to go to if you are a chocolate fanatic and yes they do have white chocolate for those who don't like the regular plain old chocolate and they also do have dark chocolate as well as milk chocolate.I myself am very partial to the regular milk chocolate and peanut butter items but for me it doesn't matter I'll take any kind of chocolate from Gertrude HawksSo if you're looking for a real good treat stop in and say hi and also sign up for their emails so that you can get exclusive deals or savings it helped me out a lot I was able to save a lot of money building up points remember points you don't have to pay for anything to become a member You just give them your email You earn points when you shop and I've earned probably well over 100 points and if saved lots of money doing that.And I do believe they are coming out with special chocolates that are gluten-free or something that is able to help people of all kinds to eat the chocolate but don't quote me on that I'm not sure but it's always good to check especially if you have allergies because yes it is chocolate which means yes it is made in the same containers or mixed or near other items that were made with peanuts so please check the restrictions of your allergies and wear stuff is made”
