Nestled at the top of a hill amongst the woods, the Traditions Spa overlooks the city lights below. In consideration to the Binghamton and southern tier area this spa is located in, this spa is a solid 4 stars. In comparison to nationwide spas in larger cities, it would likely rank around 2-3 stars. However, when you are Rome, do as the Romans do -- and this is the place you want to be if you want a spa day in the southern tier. My review will include my experience as well as my suggestions. If I return to this location, I will update my review accordingly.Parking is ample and nearby. You are required to walk down stairs to enter the spa. Reception check-in is located rather far around the corner from the entrance and past what looks like it should be the check-in area, but it is signed to encourage you to keep walking. Check-in is just as quick and easy as the phone reservation, however their online reservation system needs to be updated to accurately list all their available services or you will likely book and pay for the incorrect treatment online as I did and end up having to call to rectify it. For example, not all facials or services are listed online and those that are do not match their publications in print or online for the services offered. It would have been nice to be offered a tour so to speak, as in "here is the relaxation room" or "would you like a cup of citrus water," which would bring this spa on par with other higher end spas nationwide. You may undress to your comfort level, totally nude is completely fine. The provided robes are thick and cozy, very warm, and slide sandals are also provided. There is a snack bar, which had a single granola left on it and various items - perhaps it needed to be checked midday for restocking. It was not offered to me by the receptionist, so I did not partake. The bathroom is attached to the locker room with 2 stalls, 3 showers, and what another patron said was a steam room - although I do not know because she said it was broken the last time and didn't look to be working still, and as aforementioned, there was zero introduction/tour to the amenities despite mentioning this was my first time there.Once you are ready for your treatment, you will go to the relaxation room. The relaxation room is essentially a waiting room with dim lighting, a pitcher of water, and fireplace. It would have added so much to have aromatherapy, soft music, and fruit in the water to level it up just a bit. It would've been wonderful to have reclining loungers, hot tea, and cozy blankets to actually relax in. The available chairs are upright and simply serve as a waiting area rather than the inviting oasis it could easily become. The body scrub is provided on a massage table in a dry room. The lotions and scrubs used are not preheated, so it is a bit shocking to the skin on a wintry day when lying on a heated table. Essentially, the sugar scrub is applied to the back, shoulders, and limbs. While feet are included in the treatment, hands were not and therefore were not exfoliated or moisturized. I requested abdomen but it was not provided. You then shower in room and return to the table for cream application via massage. The massage therapist I had, Jennifer, was extremely good in comparison to hundreds of professional massages I've previously had with excellent quality of touch. Highly recommended. This concludes the body scrub service.Back to the relaxation room. A few minutes later, the aesthetician arrives and takes me to have an anti-aging facial. The facial consisted of 2 different cleansers (the first was tea tree and peppermint, the second unscented), 1 sugar scrub (smelled like dessert), and extractions followed by 2 layers of orange-scented oil. The hot steam collected too much on one side of my face and products began running into my eye to the point I had to obtain a wipe to dry out my eye 3x during the treatment. My eye makeup was not removed during the facial. I felt like the aesthetician was likely newer due to the many flaws I noticed in techniqu

This is a beautiful place with an absolutely gorgeous scenery, delightful rooms, plenty of parking, activities like foot golf and a spa that has a salt cave. This was our first visit so we did not get to use the spa but we will be back for sure. This could be the perfect escape for us from life.

This is an embarrassment for our area. The massage was great. That's why the one star. There was one working shower and it was a good thing the lady before me told me to watch the water temperature. It was scalding. There is no privacy. The counter in the bathroom was empty of any products. There was 1 wrapped comb, only one working blow dryer outlet. I wanted a product on the way out , both girls sat in the chair said that they were out of the product indifferent to my request . Just sat there. I will never ever go back. Clean up people, this spa should represent our area. This was last year!

I went to the Easter buffet on 4/4/21 & where they sat my friend & i was unbearable to say the least!!!! In a corner of the "sunroom" hotter than hell sun blazing in our eyes & chairs so flimsy & uncomfortable. I went up & asked the hostess to move us & believe me there was a lot of empty places but after 3 minutes of her trying to figure things out on her list i said forget it. The whole time we were there until we left she could of moved us with no trouble as to screwing her list up, but that didn't happen. we were the only ones out of two tables there feeling like we were on display. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE i will never go there again. We actually tried moving the table out of the corner to get some air & get out of the sun but that didn't work. The food was good but every thing else sucked & not even a i'm sorry from them & no response from them on their website. Not very respectful.

My wife and I came here to go to the Salt Sanctuary. We had a groupon for it, so we thought we'd try it out as it was my birthday. We'd never done this before, so we thought why not. It was kind of Eh. I didn't notice any difference in my breathing neither did my wife. It may be one of those things you need to do more than once to feel any effects. I don't think we'll be coming down from Syracuse to do this again anytime soon. If you can get the Groupon for it, and pay 42% less, it may be worth it to try it, but at full price? Seems to be a waste, in my opinion.
