Four Winds Hospitals are specialized mental health treatment facilities located in New York state. With campuses in Katonah and Saratoga Springs, they provide inpatient and outpatient services for children, adolescents, and adults. While the facilities themselves may appear outdated, with paper files and older medication practices, the staff at Four Winds are praised for their genuine care and devotion to patients. Many reviewers highlight the compassionate approach of the mental health workers, who make efforts to connect with patients and ensure they feel respected and supported. The treatment experience seems to vary, with some patients reporting excellent care and progress, while others express dissatisfaction with misdiagnosis, inappropriate medication, and a lack of expertise in certain areas like borderline personality disorder. The food quality is also a point of contention, with mixed reviews. Overall, Four Winds appears to be a mixed bag, with a dedicated and caring staff balancing out the facility's dated infrastructure and occasional missteps in patient care. While not perfect, the hospital seems to provide valuable mental health services to the local community and has left a positive impression on many of its past patients.
Horrible experience. They bully you when they want to discharge. Then when you get there if you have your other kids with you they make you stand outside in the elements (down pouring). The communication with the caseworker is horrible too. I feel like my son didn't gain anything from being there.
