The best public library in Westchester. A beautiful, tranquil setting to study and work. Lovely people, free coffee, and an acoustic pod for work calls.

Open seven days a week! Families have the whole floor to themselves. No need to shush your little ones while they play. Lots of activities to meet all levels of readers and pre-reader tactile play needs. Access to the Serenity Garden will bring you some much needed peace if you are living with child induced interrupted sleep. Charming town with lots of local shops and eateries within walking distance.

I go to small-town public libraries all over, from Rye to Lenox MA to Wellfleet and beyond. Katonah is my favorite. They have coffee! And all the newspapers! And so many intimate spaces!

Some of the staff here are unfortunately very rude and pretentious. You can approach the circulation desk and I’ve had it happen multiple times that they didn’t even acknowledge my presence, despite the fact that they were not busy or attending to other patrons at the time. This is certainly not true of all the staff here, but it has happened to me multiple times with multiple staff members, in addition to having experienced other rude and inconsiderate behavior from them, and it’s always very upsetting. I always conduct myself in a kind and courteous manner and I hope for and value similar treatment in return. The library has wonderful program offerings and their facilities are beautiful, but more tact, professionalism, and friendliness amongst the staff would certainly be appreciated.

Such an adorable library - classic and well-sized and cozy and comfy. They even let you rent musical instruments and up to 50 (!) books. Putting books on hold is so easy, you don't even need to go into the library. They're right there at the entrance on a shelf. It's a great spot to read in and stop by. 5 stars!!!

My memories include a personal soundtrack. The kind you hear introducing a film set in a charming small village. In mid to late April (now, this year), as I would walk the slightly old tree root broken sidewalk, those trees are bursting into buds. The lovely tree lined island separating Bedford Road emphasized the dappled light. Inside the prettiest library that I have ever used, were the most helpful librarians. The well used reading room, again evokes a film set. The epitome of a comfortable decades old space. But in this library, I had my introduction to three D printing. The children's room is very inviting and up to date. Later in the spring and also in the fall the library conducts its book sales. I always had fun volunteering to set up, and help the crowds carry off their newly purchased treasures. I'm just a book loving shop girl at heart.
