The honey desasne wings are a work of art. A true delicatessen. The epitome of flavor and crunch. A better wing has never been crafted.

Picked up takeout. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Ribs were very disappointing. The meat was very dry and very burned. It was tough to chew. The rack we got still had the membrane on the back. Brisket was ok. It was shredded , not sliced. Not dry, but it didn’t have a lot flavor. The sauces were delicious. Cornbread was ok, little too dense and soggy, collards were good.

Take-out order. Brisket was dry and woman serving was not friendly and had a miserable attitude. Also, the owner probably should stop answering reviews bragging about his “beautiful, young waitress” and arguing with customers about their tip in a restaurant that uses plastic utensils and paper plates. Unbelievably rude and inappropriate for an owner.

Tried this place twice because I wanted to like it. The pulled pork sandwich was disappointing, twice. The ribs were ok-ish. Mac n cheese was hard on top and dry in the middle. The BBQ sauce in general is just yuck store bought stuff. Lady at the counter was not in a good mood, twice. If I was really hungry while driving by I'd come again.

The food was OK The price is good. However I will not return because it's not OK to tell people how much tipping you have to do. The wife and I will not be back.

Great tasting burgers and pulled pork. The portions are pretty big and the sides we got (fries, sweet potato fries, onion rings, and cornbread) were SOOO good.

Our go to BBQ spot, the sesame wasabi chicken wings are a favourite and you can’t go wrong with the brisket and their homemade pretzels and bbq sauce.

In response to the tough profesional business owner.First of all if I was tough hunter as you say I am I would get up and…….out of you when you insulted us.Second you didn’t have a 20% sign for gratuity. If it’s a policy then you should add it automatically on the bill.Third to show how good of business owner you are should learn how you calculate tips. When you calculate the tip you calculate pre tax not after tax . The total was $144 plus taxes, now do the math.Fourth , I didn’t know they make expensive plastic and paper ware .Fifth as a good business owner you saying you are, you should also know that’s hard to cut that chicken ( because it wasn’t fall of the bone) with plastic utensils and probably you will have to pick up the bbq meat with your hands to eat it . Perhaps you should have more napkins on the table and maybe a glass of water like all the restaurants do.I am a business owner myself and I know how hard it’s to get customers to come into your store to shop and keep them coming. And even if I am not happy with a customer I will not start yelling at them in font of other people. You started talking loud so other customer hear you and make sure they tip good your employees because you don’t pay them. And I also have employees and we do deliveries and if customer doesn’t tip I don’t call them back and tell them to make sure you tip next time. My employees are happy because I PAY THEM GOOD. Take my advice and PAY them too.As a civilized person I will not go to your level and go there . This is why they have all these wonderful review platforms so people can write about it tough guy. What you will do if I go there, beat me up because I gave you 1 star review? You deserve 2 stars for your average food and 0 stars for your behavior.————————————————————————We have been going to this place since they opened. We go 5-6 times a year to eat there and take food to go. One Saturday night (11/18/23) 6 of us went there to eat. We ordered and hey brought the food at the table, the girl came again to ask if we needed anything else. After we finish we went to pay at the counter. We told the girl to add $20 on the total amount which was around $143 before taxes . We paid and sat down and continued talking . The owner comes over and with a loud voice started to ask us how was everything from the food to the service and then how was so hard to find people to work there and that the tip it was not enough. We explained him that we told the girl to add $20 on the bill. If you want NYC tips you shouldn’t serve the food on paper plates with plastic utensils with one tiny napkin and not even a glass of water.By the way on previous visits we ordered food at the counter tip the girl before the food came and even threw the paper plates after we finished. On the way out we purchased to go food and we tip the girl again. If according to you we didn’t tip enough you can tell us more privately and not trying to be loud so the other tables hear you.You can’t find anyone to work for you because you don’t pay them . You expect your customers to pay for your employees. At the end we gave the girl $30 more .

I've been eating here for years and never had a bad meal until today. Ordered half a rack of ribs to go. Got home ready to dig in and wow.....what a disappointment ?. Dry as beef jerky! Cornbread was good and the Mac and cheese was ok. What happened to my favorite BBQ place?

Very, very good BBQ. Done on sight. Brisket, pulled pork, or ribs that u will literally cry for more. We ride up in a group. It's a long ride from home but well worth it. Been following outpost from first location to the mobile smoke hose on wheels to the present location which has a dinning room with a stage.

Absolutely disgusting. The service was good because it came really fast. But there's a reason it was fast. My wife's chicken was warmed up from last nights leftovers and wasn't even cooked all the way through. I got the pulled pork sandwich. It was gross. Cold, no flavor and on a huge stale hard roll. The Mac and cheese was cold and we refused to try the coleslaw because it was brown and shriveled. If you're interested in getting food poisoning then this is the place for you. But if your looking for BBQ, do NOT come here. They should be ashamed to even call themselves a BBQ joint. Just because you put a couple BBQ signs up doesn't make you one. Gross ?

Wrapping up a weekend getaway in upstate New York with my fiancé, hunger struck as we hit the road back home. As luck would have it, we passed by Outpost BBQ, and the tantalizing aroma beckoned us. Unable to resist, I looked at her and asked, "Should I turn around?" Without hesitation, I made a swift U-turn, and it turned out to be a savory decision. Opting for the brisket platter with sweet potato fries and mac n' cheese, I was greeted with a culinary masterpiece. The flavors were nothing short of amazing, and with each bite, I found myself wishing I had ordered more. This impromptu stop at Outpost BBQ transformed the car ride home into a delightful journey, making it clear that the detour was well worth the savory satisfaction. If you find yourself in Ellenville, NY, and your nose leads you to Outpost BBQ, don't hesitate to indulge - it's an experience that elevates the journey.
