El Mercadito is an awesome little Latin shop and hidden gem, a little slice of Mexico offering authentic food. It is a small bodega and tiny little grocery with no frills, but the food is epic, excellent, delicious, and top notch. They serve some of the best and most authentic food in town, with amazing and pretty good options. Their birria is probably their best option, and their birria combo box is a lot of food for a great price. The tacos, carnitas burrito, chorizo tacos, burritos, enchiladas, and rice and beans are all excellent and simple but excellent. They also have awesome pasteles and fresh baked goods, Latin bakery goods, cakes, snacks, produce, ingredients, cheese, spices, dried peppers, tortillas, sauces, drinks, candy, and other little Mexican goodies—pretty much your Mexican essentials. The prices are good and inexpensive, the service is awesome and friendly, and it is a true local treasure and delicious option to support a small, local business.
