First time patron getting nails done to match a dress i am wearing to a wedding. The staff were friendly and welcoming as I walked into a very calm and clean shop. I don’t get my nails done much so I didn’t exactly know what I wanted or how to say what I wanted(I have no clue what the difference between acrylic, gels, etc is) so I left my nails in their hands based on an inspo photo I showed them. I have tried to get my nails done elsewhere before and always hated the experience…until now. I’m very happy with the outcome and will likely be getting my nails done more often at J’s nails.

Quick work, sanitary level is a little questionable, asked for a simple but small design and it could’ve been better. Techs weren’t rude or friendly, just very in and out. Would be a great place for a simple service without design if you’re in a pinch. (last photo was what i asked for)

I got french tips on my tops then my friend got her nails done(cuticles were not cut, hang nails visible, got to finish cutting nails when she arrived home, and her hand was pushed to far into the the led light and burnt her finger.) would not recommend

I went to J’s yesterday to get a fill on my acrylics. They’re not my normal spot but wanted to give a try. Three people tried to fix my nails. It was insane. The first woman did the prep and it seemed like she was being taught by the second woman how to do acrylics but the second woman clearly also doesn’t know what she’s doing. Attached are pictures of the atrocity “fill”. After applying bricks of acrylic to my simple fill, the first woman started trying to shape them. I asked her to make them not so thick and she wasn’t understanding so a man, a third person, came over trying to salvage the mess. I’ve been getting acrylics for 20 years… never have i experienced this. I eventually insisted on paying and going elsewhere because it was that bad. At the end he didn’t have me pay, which was the right thing to do, so I went to New Style down the street and they thankfully fixed the hack job that came out of J’s. On top of the nail techs clearly not knowing what they’re doing at J’s, the salon is DISGUSTING. No proper sanitation, it’s dirty on the floors, walls, and stations, there are huge cob webs everywhere, wallpaper peeling off the walls. 0/10 do not recommend. Worse than Sunshine in Rhinebeck, which is saying a lot.
Also- was overhearing a girl raising concern because they wanted to charge her like $40 to fix ONE nail that had broken. Insane.

I’m sorry but this place has become so bad! The atmosphere inside leaves little to be desired and the staff is terrible except maybe one or two girls that are sweet. I’ve gone to quite a few nail salons but the staff here literally does not understand you at all and I’m used to a slight language barrier, but this was ridiculous. Nor are they even friendly when trying to discuss something, they do a half assed job and it wasn’t even worth complaining because I just wanted to get out of there. Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else if you want any kind of quality experience!

I recently visited J Nails for a short French manicure, which cost me $66. I went back for a simple fill, expecting a reasonable price—and they charged me $61! How does a fill almost cost as much as a full set? When I explained that this pricing didn’t make sense, they showed no interest in addressing my concerns. I won’t be returning. If you’re considering this salon, be prepared for overpriced services with little customer care.

Staff were extremely welcoming. Got my sisters and I in right away. They did an amazing job on all of our nails. Pricing is very reasonable too. And to top it off, I had my daughter with me and staff ended up taking her to hangout with them on the couch while I got my nails done. They were very sweet and attentive with my daughter throughout my time there. I highly recommend.

Woman doing my pedicure had major attitude. I opted for the very basic because I had very little time. She did a very poor job and I could tell she was talking smack to the coworker very unprofessional. You could tell she hates her job.

I have now read some of these reviews unfortunately after going! My sister and I get a pedicure when I visit once every few years (I live abroad). We left our kids with family and were excited to get some adult sister time alone. We were placed at the back of the room (I was next to the washing machine). There were women rushing about to refill bottles, do laundry, talking together (and we couldn't understand them, which is fair enough, but I found rude and we found it hard to relax). My sister was asked three times to upgrade. The first, the basic $25 pedicure to a $33 one. But the 10 minute "massage" convinced her (and me). Then they asked to upgrade and pay $7 for callous removal, and to pay $10 for gel polish. And she didn't easily accept a "no". My sister has to keep making request (like to clean up her toes or focus on "massaging" certain areas of the feet). I didn't want to be difficult, and hoped my sad and depressed looking lady would just do a good job. But in reality my legs/feet were just rubbed (not massaged) and the tops of my feet were barely scratched. This was not enjoyable. But I did feel so bad for the pale, depressed looking staff and didn't even know their working status, so I just tried to make the best of it and not think too much. I would not recommend to go here, and I would never return.

The worst manicure I’ve ever paid for.
I asked for Gels and did not get gels, I could understand that being a miscommunication and me not speaking up, ok.
But the manicure itself was awful. Rushed, she didn’t trim my cuticles, by nails were filed crooked and uneven, the top coat applied did not cover each nail entirely leaving part of each nail looking dull and unfinished.
I’m shocked the place was so crowded because I will never go back. Waste of money.

Really disappointed with this place.
Ava did my pedicure today. I paid for the upgraded pedicure @ $33. The cheap pedicure is $25. In the photo I attached from just a few hours ago, nail polish smeared on my big toe. You can also see the lack of attention to my feet, dry cracked skin still there. I shouldn't have to pay $50 for basic pedicure service. I guess $33 was not enough for the scrubbing version.
Tried to upsell me TWICE for $7 callous remover, again, a good basic scrape would have been fine.
She was unfriendly and more concerned with watching the other customers to make sure she got her tip.
The 10min "massage" was a complete joke. Worst I've ever had, all she did was rub some kind of cream in the same spot on my calves and scratch with her nails. Will not be back.
