Stayed at this vile establishment last year for my annual fall foliage trip to Lake Placid. I had figured, considering it’s proximity to the town as well as a beautiful golf course next-door that this would be a good spot to stay. Oh boy was I wrong, I ended up getting bitten by bedbugs head to toe with bites all over my face, the bedsheets had blood on them either from the massacre that was occurring overnight from me getting ingested by bedbugs, or from the prior person who had slept there before me and their experience with the bedbugs. The manager did nothing even after showing pictures of the bites all over my face . I have never been more disgusted and turned off by any hotel in my entire life. Stay away from this place!!

Pulled into the parking lot to inquire about a room. I made a quick phone call before entering to talk to someone. Approximately 1 min later I was asked to leave. Terrible customer service.

Do Not stay here. Looked really run down but it was last minute and cheap and the room looked decent enough. Woke up with bed bugs! Got it confirmed they are bed beds not a spider bite or anything else. We stayed in room 8.

Do not ever stay here. Called to make sure we were all set for our stay and the lady said yes we are all good. Show up for our vacation and the guy at the front informs us that our room was canceled. His demeanor was almost like he was waiting for us to show up, so he could laugh at us. Yes he was laughing while telling us he didn’t have a place for us to stay. Absolutely disgusting. Please do not waste your money or your time on this sorry excuse for a hotel.

Super cute little inn with mini fridge and microwave in the rooms and a surprisingly nice bathroom. Stayed in room 19 so we got a balcony with an amazing view right outside. Our hosts were extremely hospitable and kind. Only complaint is that we moved two separate beds together and under the bed wasn't vacuumed, along with the air conditioning unit in need of a good cleaning. Everything else was spotless and I like that they provided multiple lamps in the room instead of an ugly ceiling light. Will definitely stay again when I find myself back in Lake Placid.

This hotel smells so strong of smoke and mildew. There were hairs all over pillows when we arrived. No screen on balcony door, so you couldn’t air out the room, without it filling up with bugs. Full of cobwebs. Floor unswept. Common rooms filthy. Itchy sheets. Buzzing appliances.

Tried to contact the hotel to cancel my travels via email and phone but they never returned my call or emails. Travelocity tried to contact them as well, but no luck. How rude. Had to get American Express involved. Take your money elsewhere.

We stopped to check out view and see if we wanted to stay. Person came out to yell at us. “No stopping” Very rude. Would not stay at such place with that atmosphere

No detectable staff onsite. No front desk service. No phone in the room. Phone number advertised to the public does not connect to the business, but to a municipal office 150 miles away. Website bookings not clearly defined. Lame excuses like "you must have used a different website" (I did NOT) and "It was clearly stated . . . " (it was NOT). I never heard of a motel with a front desk that is only open a couple of hours a day. Even when we came in at the appointed hour, there was nobody there. Rang the bell, and a guy came out of a door marked "office", and pretended to be surprised to see us, acting as if he just happened to walk out at that moment. Asked if we made our reservation the same day (NO) then said he was "just kidding". Room was nice. "Staff" seems loony.

We read other reviews on this place and we were quite nervous. We got there late but they were friendly and still checked us in. This is an older Inn but they have made some improvements. Its not the best but it was clean and all we did was sleep there.

To say the guy is rude is an understatement. I guess it's unanimous... no pictures; like he owns the mountain lol

As I entered the lobby to explain that there was water in the soap dispenser and not soap in it at all, a male employee started yelling at me, in front of my child, that I was supposed to check out earlier. He was beyond unprofessional and he was trying to be intimidating. It was a local trying to intimidate a tourist. I asked for the owner, opened my email to show the dates, and she finally said that she put the wrong dates in the computer and her employee was mistaken. She also admitted that I was overcharged for one of the nights that we booked. I was told it would be corrected, but the owner had been very busy as she has two jobs. I had to go back to the lobby a second time and request the refund.I had to wait for her to pull out her laptop and make the correction. Once back in the room, when we used the new soap, a brown liquid came out. It looked like iodine. not a good thing ever but especially during this pandemic. To top it all off, snow fell, as it usually does in Lake Placid, and the driveway was not plowed by 9:00 AM. We had a very difficult time getting out of the lot. Go to a different hotel where the service is friendly, honest, customer-centered, appreciative, and where the facility actually has real soap, because you will not get it at this establishment.

We read the reviews, but do to all the precautions of Covid 19, we decided to give it a try anyway!TERRIBE decision on our part! This place is filthy! A toothbrush & underwear left in the bathroom. Open bag of chips next to the bed, crumbs & spider webs every where! Air cond didn't work. (would have sucked that up, but NOT with everything else we found!)We tried to call 'Andrew' at the front desk. He didn't answer. It was so GROSS that we decided to leave. (we booked 4 nights, didn't stay 1!)We called 'Andrew' the following morning. He was rude & abrupt. Told us he doesn't discuss anything on the phone. Only face to face. We told him we tried to call him, he didn't care. Said to leave a review & he would address our concerns here! weird...If you booked a stay here, I would try to cancel. We also notified the BOH, this place does NOT meet any of the COVID 19 guidelines.

After reading countless poor reviews, I was hesitant to stay here. When checking in, the owner was polite, but not personable. However, he did notice that we were staying with another couple and ran out to us and offered to put us in rooms next to each other so we could share a private deck together, which was very considerate!Like the last review says, a lot of the rooms are recently renovated with new flooring, fresh paint and new furniture. The AC was PRIME, it was absolutely freezing in the room which was so nice on a 90 degree day after hiking Cascade Mountain. There were a few spiders and small bugs, but that's to be expected when staying at a motel in the mountains. It's a mile walk at most to many of the local shops and restaurants in Lake Placid. The water pressure was nonexistent, that's my main complaint. The cleaner was extremely friendly and personable and is the reason I bumped the review up from a 3 to a 4. All in all, as long as you spend a few more dollars a night for the slightly upgraded rooms with mountain views, it will be a good stay!
