Great views and so peaceful. I love how the sun pierces through the trees onto the trail

Beautifully maintained trails close to the village of Lake Placid. The loop and Rocky Knob take about an hour to complete.

Well-maintained, marked trails with ample parking close to the village. Offers a variety of skill levels from wide low-grade trails to steeper paths with a few nice views. Year-round access and typically not too busy.

Henry's Woods will offer you a well-groomed trail loop of 2.25 miles. The terrain a series of fairly gentle undulating grades. The summit view trail is a steady but not intense climb, with views of both the high peaks and the town of Lake Placid. A glimpse of the lake and a full view of Whiteface are had. Dogs off leash are welcome and waste bags are available near the start of the loop.

Decided to check this out over the weekend. It was beautiful in the snow. There was a layer of snow covering ice which got the best of us at times (wear spikes during winter) My yaktraks didn't cut it. It was an easy hike that I'll definitely do again! It is dog friendly, however we had the only dog on leash. If you're looking for an easy hike that won't take up your day this is for you! Nice fresh air and a pretty view if you take the red trail. Enjoy!
