“I went specifically here due to reviews after being told my save the dates for my wedding were too thick with a wax seal to mail by other post offices. I was so close to having to open every single envelope and do it all over again. Until I went here! The clerk Danielle was so helpful! She made sure I had the right stamp that way it will be hand cancelled and won’t be an issue when mailing. She was so polite and even ran to make sure my postage made it on the truck for the day! I can’t thank her enough! She saved me HOURS of my time and HOURS of my hard work! I will definitely be coming back to Oakdale post office to send out my wedding invites! :)”
“Every time I go in there they workers are having a party, swinging from the lamps, dancing, blaring the music, drinking cocktails. I think I smell weed sometimes too. I usually hang out for a couple of songs and then leave buzzed, I usually forget to mail my letters LOL. Did anyone ever play that game with with the postage scale they are always playing? SO FUN!”
“As someone unfamiliar with the shipping process, I encountered a very nice staff member here. He clearly explained what I needed to do, making the entire process quick and comfortable. Additionally, the location is easily accessible and parking is convenient.”
“This is my hometown. This is the eagle as we call it. Flaps its wings on the hour. It hasn't worked and I don't even know how long like 40 years? I can't remember the last time it flapped I think it was in the '80s sometimes and it wouldn't even flap on the right time at all or even consistently during the day night or whatever.
So they just fixed it. It's all beautiful and I wanted to go down and take some pictures of it and just be in that space again.
It's such a beautiful post office. Probably one of the nicest ones on the island for sure. Especially with its unique eagle.
You did such a good job restoring it It is absolutely gorgeous. I didn't even see it in the best of light but it is magnificent.

“The lady at the desk I forgot to look at her name but she was very polite, professional and kind. My family and I went to apply for passports for my kids and we had gone to the one in Centereach and they were not helpful at all. I booked an appointment the first time and they didn't help me bc they said the appoitment was supposed to be earlier but I got there on time but didn't know I had to fill-out applications first made another appointment and got there on time there was a line and then they said that they couldn't help me bc the pictures were not supposed to look like that that the hair had to be down, they found any excuse to not help and that they were busy that day to book another appointment for another day even tho it was only 9:30am so I went to this one in CI and they were the best of the best.”
“Postal workers here have always been polite and helpful; however, Jesse deserves special mention:
We were expecting a shipment of live chicks. Tracking the shipment, we discovered that it had been delayed at Jamaica and was scheduled to be delivered the following day instead -- Obviously not great for live baby birds.
Jesse helped investigate -- and when they arrived later in the day, he drove them over to our house personally to deliver them!
(FYI, for those who don't raise chickens and wonder how they can survive the trip: Before they hatch, chickens absorb the remains of the yolk inside the egg and use it for nutrition/hydration over the first two or three days. A heat pack is added to the box to help them stay warm, and obviously there is special care in handling and delivery.)”
“I love the convenience and location of this post office. You can easily find parking and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. There are off peak times, when I have been in and out for a few minutes. I’ve gone in and done returns and they even scan QR code so they’re pretty high-tech. Highly recommend this location.”

“I have to say, these two women today were so wonderful! I was stressed about sending back a wedding gift for my fiancé and I didn’t have the right packaging. They took care of everything for me, taped everything up and put the label on for me- made it stress free for me! I can’t thank them enough!”

“Christina is FANTASTIC!! Great experience as a buyer and now as a seller. As a customer I found Long Island Treasures to be very professional, pleasant and accommodating. Auction listings were detailed and accurate. I encountered a friendly, swift pick up on the goods I won. Additionally I called Christina recently when an estate sale was needed for my mother-in-law’s condo . It was no surprise the auction from beginning to end was flawless. They even negotiated and sold items in a closet I forgot to show them to include in the catalog the day of the pickup. As expected , much of the old heavy furniture was not bid on or wanted for free during the pickup. So LI Treasures cleared it all out within a week. Just like my buying experience, the selling experience exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend them for whatever needs you have.”

“My first visit here was a good one, and when I have a good experience I like to let others know. Especially when most visits to USPS locations are usually not the most pleasant. Not this day at this location though! So let's celebrate, I was in and out in a couple minutes. The lonely gentlemen behind the counter just received a huge order from the customer before but it didn't take long at all(a minute most) and he was helping me with my few pieces of mail and off I went. Very nice...I hope you have a similar experience!”
“This is the best post office in my area. Any time I use this post office to send a pkg or letter it gets sent out very quickly and tracks immediately. The people who work there are very polite and helpful. I will not use any other post office for my mail needs.”
“I'm constantly reminded that I should always come here any and every time I go to the Smithtown location.Never once have I had one single issue here in fact the service here is always very respectful and they go out of their way to be helpful and friendly. If you go to Smithtown you will most likely be greeted with the exact opposite service. Do yourself a favor, don't go to Smithtown.”

Within minutes from closing, Jake was super friendly and helpful and did not appear rushed or agitated. He greeted everyone with a nice smile and even made some lighthearted jokes. “I don’t think it’s fair that no one has ever taken the time to review the counter service at our local Post Office. I am there on a regular basis, as I run on online yarn business. I am always met with polite, professional, service! Even during the stressful holiday period. We live in a time when everyone is quick to complain. I want the Post Master to know that I never see sending my packages as a chore, and that’s because of the staff working there. Kudos??!”

Obviously the building ownership and management isn't any different than any other post office what made the difference was the person we dealt with. Xavier was the first truly happy and kind post office service worker I've came in contact with. His genuine friendliness made for a great experience.”
