I just used this cleaners for the first time, AND NEVER WILL AGAIN! My wife asked me to bring our bed comforter and two pillow shams to the cleaners. I happened to be in Larchmont, parked in front of Bernier's cleaners, so I thought I'd give them a try. I went in, told them it was not a down comforter, but just fiber fill, and asked them if they could do it. They said yes, and that they could have it by Wednesday (today was Friday), so I said OK. When the woman gave me the receipt, I was shocked- $114 ! I almost said "forget it", but being a male who doesn't know about these kind of things, I said, "Well, may be it involves a lot of work." I drove home, and my wife was livid, telling me that the price of $114 WAS MORE THAN SHE PAID FOR THE ITEM. She said that it was OUTRAGEOUS! I immediately drove back to the cleaners, and asked for the items back, and told them the price was just too outrageous. This time the man was at the counter, and he said that the items were already in the washing machine. Bear in mind that I was gone for no more than 30 minutes. I asked him first of all, why is the price so outrageously expensive, and secondly, if it's in the machine now, why will it not be ready until Wednesday? He answered both question by trying to sell me on how much work was involved. At that moment, my wife called me and told me that she had telephoned another cleaners WHO QUOTED HER A PRICE OF $29.99!! So, now I realized how I had been taken advantage of and swindled. I had taken my wife's call out on the sidewalk. When I went back in to confront them about the price, neither the man nor the woman was at the counter. The man must have heard me talking, and now they were both hiding in the back of the store. I left in disgust and drove home. This ended when my wife called the cleaners, telling them to keep it, because she was not going to pay such an exponential price. My advice is to avoid this business like the plague!
