“The Arthur Avenue Retail Market is one of several public food halls across the city, including Essex Market (LES), Jamaica Farmers Market (Queens), La Marqueta (Harlem), and the Moore Street Market (Brooklyn).The Arthur Avenue market opened in 1940 to serve the predominantly Italian neighborhood and still does to this day.There are several vendors, including butchers, fresh produce sellers, dry goods, and at least one restaurant and sandwich joint.I was running errands in the area and needed a sandwich, so I ordered a mortadella and broccoli raab sandwich from Mike's in the back on the right. They also offer many pre-made sandwiches if you are in a rush, but I like to order off the menu.The butchers look great and have an assortment of specialties, including offal and fresh rabbits. I can't wait to see what they offer around Easter time.There are a few tables near the bar in the back and as part of the restaurant, but it's hard to say if you are welcome to sit there to eat a sandwich. Regardless, it's a great spot to check out if you are walking along and want to pop into NYC, equivalent to a European food hall.”

“I have to put a review. I was looking for a place for a turkey last minute I called this place. Spoke with Tanji and she fit me in the last minute. I ordered a whole coked turkey for today to pick it up. She was so professional and kind. Spoke with her few times back and forth about ingredients due to allergies. Picked the turkey and I can say that it was the best turkey I ever had and all the guests were so happy. I will never cooked another turkey because there is no way I can cook like them. Thank You all to you and the best chef!”
“This meat market is located in an excellent location in downtown Mount Vernon. A little away from the Pavilion square area which is convenient for people coming from Hartly Park. The service is excellent even in the holiday season in which the small shop can fill up quickly. They have a variety of meats, some vegetables, juices, and Jamaican bread. Found this shop an ideal meat market business!”

“After taking my kids in their 20's to Ireland for the first time this year, I thought it would be a great surprise to assemble them an Irish breakfast box for Christmas. I finally settled on ordering Irish breakfast sausages, rashers, and black pudding from this shop based on their story and the reviews. We were not disappointed! The meats are fantastic. Now we are thinking we need to plan a trip to New York to check out the store in person, and load up on more meat. Thank you for the excellent service and products. We will definitely be buying more!”
“My Newest favorite place! I tried this spot based on the reviews, and I must admit the people didn't fib!! Purchased "Short Ribs" and they were tender and meaty! They're fast friendly-will give you you cooking tips and shave off unwanted fat!! Now this is my only meat market!!! We're family now?”
“There are a few butcher shops on authur ave but for me this is my favorite. This place will literally do whatever you want them to do to a cut of meat. They also carry things like duck, lamb, rabbit, quail, and a few other more exotic meats if you're into that kind of stuff. Great place and make sure you ask for Jimmy he is a true professional!”

“I love this supermarket. You can get in and out of the store in a flash, it is clean, very well stocked especially for a small store and the staff is great. My only complaint is that the produce can be underwhelming. I see so many of the reviews compare Country Market to Stop and Shop down the road. While you might be able to get food cheaper at Stop and Shop, Stop and Shop is often understocked, the staff is discourteous and getting in and out of the lot is bad.”

“It's a simple shop that sells the best meats around. I don't know where grocery stores here source their meats, but I half-jokingly refer to the beef as Chernobyl cows. PWMC has a far better source for their meats, and I only buy from grocery stores when this butcher is closed and I'm desperate.”

“I have been going to Palma Meat Market for about 2 years now... I have my mother and sister buying meat here.. One can get quality and fresh cuts of meat, perfectly cut to your choice.. The meat plans are very well priced... The customer service is beyond great.... My mom enjoys plan #24 and i get #2 with additional meat or plans as needed... The rolls and long hero bread is delivered fresh daily. The eggs are freah and great.you get a dozen free with plans.They have other products that one needs to purchase as well... The store is always clean and fresh... This meat market is highly recommended.”

“i bought sum steaks from here and was very happy with the shipping and quality of the meat me and my family enjoyed it very much! They took three days shipping it but i was supprised on the third day at about 11:30 am to recive them with the ice gel packs still completly frozen over the steaks srry they are not in the pictures did not think to also show them but im happy with the money i spent and recomend to anyone with the money to spend you will not be disapointed well if your as luck as i was anyway! oh yea this is 6 steaks in the cooler hard to tell but what you see is just the top three”
