We started in November with emergency care for my cat. Found out she had E-Coli and chronic renal failure. Two other vets hadn’t diagnosed this and it was clear on her lab work done a year ago. Had I known this I would have put her down. It was pricy treatment but she came back to us and only lasted 3 more months. Once again we went back here to put her down since it was time. They were very compassionate and kind and put us in a grieving room vs an exam room. The price was surprisingly fair considering they are an emergency vet. Thank you Drs Rogers, Gavin, staff, and the Dr that put her down. I was too upset to remember. It was a very peaceful passing and I’ll never forget the excellent care we received. Thank you so much!!! Since they are open 24/7 it was nice to know we could go anytime we needed to. I hope we don’t need emergency care in the near future, but when we do I will only go here!!!

Worried more about the money instead of helping our cat… Just read a few reviews and see they still are doing the same thing smh They killed my cat and even sent me a bill for $8 because I was short!! You would think due to the fact that they made us kill our cat they would be more sympathetic but nope they sent a bill smh… Don’t take ur pet here for the love of God!! They prioritize the money instead of your pets health!!! There is another 24 hour vet around the same place that prioritizes your pet and will explain everything happening and will even help take payments because THEY DO CARE ABOUT OUR PETS AND THEIR CUSTOMERS FINANCIAL STATE!!! PLEASE I ASK YOU ALL TO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE!!!

Unless your pet is bleeding out,... find a real vet. This is a Barbi Petland Hospital. This is a junior high school after school club. A bunch of animal loving girls playing vet while jabbering in cute doggy voice and ignoring customers.Around midnight, I left my dog for tests. They called me at 6:00 AM to pick him up. Three text messages in under 10 minutes. I arrive and the aske me to site in the waiting area. 81 minutes. Note, mine was the only car in the lot, I the only idiot in the waiting roomAt minute 82 ,a junior "tech" reads me, out loud, the the discharge document.Ten minutes later, another equally vapid teenager reads the same paperwork, aloud, to me.Finally, another tweenager brings my dog and, READ THE SAME DISCHARGE instructions.Their billing organization is attentive. I left my dog at midnight and by 5:30 AM they had called and texted four times for payment. They want the $$ in case the dog dies. The good part: $1,809.00 for misdiagnosis. He's now at a real vet with adult techs.

I live 65 miles away and i would recommend this veterinary hospital to anyone. I have been there 4 times in the past 5 weeks (one dog for 3 follow-up bloodwork tests that could not be done in my vets office) and most recently for one of my dogs that became suddenly ill. On all four visits I was met with extremely compassionate and knowledgeable staff.

So Thursday Jan 25 my six year old English bull dog became very ill and needed and emergency surgery for pyometra. They took her in quickly. Then I waited about three hrs and was told by the veterinarian she needed to have her uterus and ovaries removed. To the tune of 6500$ and would not proceed till it was paid in full.... That right there is a very heartless act in its self. So I paid 6500$ in cash to have this procedure done to save my dog. Was kept Informed was called when procedure was over. Was called again telling me her breathing wasn't quite right they wanted to keep her longer. Picked her up around three pm. She was walking. Still not breathing right. I totally understand it and English bull dog and they have issues. I got her home and she began to decline breathing was absolutely terrible. So I called and brought her back. To be told she could have pneumonia and should have X-rays and be kept overnight to the tune of another 2000$. I refused. They prescribed three new meds. Then charged another 250$ overall I was not displeased with the staff. I displeased at the rotten way they wanna take 10000$ out of your pocket.

After a traumatic incident with our dog, I called the Capital District Veterinary Hospital while driving to the clinic. The staff were kind, reassuring and empathetic from the initial phone call. Upon arrival, the staff immediately assessed our dog, and did not make her wait in the waiting room. Within minutes, a staff member was informing us of the next steps and procedures that would occur. With a full waiting room of over 20 animals, the staff continued to keep us informed on the care of our dog. We received communications from the veterinary technician, receptionists, and the Veterinarian herself, through in person conversations, phone calls and text messages. I cannot thank the hospital for the care they gave both our dog and us, during and throughout her procedure and recovery. I would recommend Capital District Veterinary Hospital in a heartbeat for quality care, professionalism and communication.

Excellent support staff and doctors. Very clear communication. My dog had a foreign body and required surgery but the doctors even found a splenic mass incidentally on ultrasound that could have saved my dogs life down the road. Very grateful with the experience and care. They kept me up to date on finances, no hidden charges. As a vet tech myself, I appreciated the level of care my dog received while he was hospitalized there. Thanks again for helping Riley get back to his old self.

My 15yo cat had her first seizure last night and they were able to take her in right away and help her. I’m so grateful for the quick response from their team even though it was very busy and the workers were dealing with many different pets, they still maintained a professional and caring attitude for me and my family. Thank you for all you guys do!

We had to bring our 9 yo cat here in the middle of the night due to respiratory distress. We were told the cost for exam when we called, cat was taken back immediately for triage, within 30-40 minutes the vet updated us that the cat got meds, oxygen and that they suggested an x ray. We were given the estimated cost right then. Overall, we spent 3 1/2 hours in the animal hospital, but they had multiple other animals that came in and we did feel they triaged appropriately. In the end, our cat was stabilized and able to come home so it was worth it even though we still don’t know the cause of the event and were referred to specialists. Price is high, but it’s what’s expected at an animal hospital in the middle of the night.

We needed to bring our dog in for his first true health emergency this week, after he consumed a potentially fatal dose of dark chocolate. The hospital staff were incredibly caring and I was so happy with their frequent communication and check-ins with us. The hospital seemed to run like a well oiled machine. We witnessed the triage process several times and saw the staff pivot and adapt to the constantly changing conditions of the patients coming in. Our dog was triaged within 10 minutes and taken back to begin his care. Within two hours of arrival, the doctor had fully assessed his situation as severe enough for a 24 hour stay, and she gave us a cost estimate and explained our options. He ended up improving quickly, and staff determined he could be discharged early. All through this 12 hour, middle of the night ordeal, we had so much communication. Everyone made us feel very supported and we went into the following days knowing their expertise is just a phone call away if we had any more issues. So grateful to have this service nearby!

Our region is fortunate to have this highly professional and well staffed clinic open 24-7 for veterinary emergencies. The doctors and staff are excellent. I have two senior cats with kidney issues and have been to Capital District twice for emergency care and labs. Having worked in and around veterinary offices for years, and being employed in the animal-rescue field, I must share my enthusiastic appreciation for the staff and doctors here. Given the shortage of veterinary services nationwide, it's amazing that this clinic can accept emergency patients so quickly. Top quality care - there's no question about that. Thank you, Capital Veterinary. You are truly appreciated!

When we had to say goodbye to our dearly loved dog we went to Capital District Veterinary Referral. They helped us through this heartbreaking time with such care and compassion. I am truly thankful for them.
