Whitney Point Rest Area is a nice and decent place, well maintained and the nicest rest stop. It is the only rest area on I-81 in New York southbound. The bathrooms are so clean with really cool, touch-free toilets. The hall reminds of typical NY structures. There is a good selection of snacks from vending machines and a deck with a beautiful view of the mountains. The staff are pleasant. It is a great place to stop, relax, and catch up.
We like stopping at Whitney point. The bathroom I love because we don't have to touch and flush at the same time I try to take a planter for the box lol?

The ONLY rest area on 81 in NY from Canadian border to Pennsylvania southbound. Great place. No restaurant but restrooms are clean.
