One of the most unprofessional experiences I’ve had at a tax preparation location. I had an appointment booked from 5-6pm. It took until 8pm for a tax professional to pick up the phone. It took 30 minutes for them to explain to me they couldn’t fix a simple error they made in the first place. After asking what I needed to do to fix the error myself, they directed me to someone at the reception desk. The reception desk person (who was not a tax professional) proceeded to provide me with tax advice. When I asked if they were a tax professional they hung up the phone on me. Do not go here if you don’t want to waste your time / get your taxes filed by an illegitimate location.

The only reason I’m leaving a review is because the agent thought it was okay to hang up on me. This was my first time trying H&R Block. I usually file my taxes myself but needed help since I now work in another state and have to file for 2 states. I sat there for an hour while the agent tried to file my taxes but he was having some issues, said it was a glitch with the computer and would have tech take a look and give me a one day of the following week. I was not upset by this, these things happen. After I got home, I called H&R and asked if they can cancel. The agent asked to give him a few days and if they can’t figure it out, then I can go somewhere else. I explained to him that I didn’t want to waste anymore time (his or mine) and they are not able to fix the issue. He then said okay & hung up on me. Had he not hung up on me, I wouldn’t be leaving this review. It was absolutely rude and unprofessional.I found an accountant that same day that was able to file my taxes with no issues and also charged a lot less than H&R was charging me.

This is the second year I am doing my taxes in Long Beach with hr block. Phil helped me both years and I feel lucky I found him. He is very professional , knowledgeable and I will be back there every year

I Will attempt to do my own taxes as it is a fairly straightforward process. The only reason I used Block this year was that I received two 1099-R forms for the first time. This year was my first receiving OPM and SSA benefits. With the stimulus payments, it was a bit tricky. Otherwise, no problem.
