If you are looking for a business that overcharges, overpromises and under-delivers, then definitely come here. Yes, the overall workmanship is good, but the kind of business mistakes I experienced at the Leather Spa are rudimentary and unacceptable. What a shame! For over 10 years I took my shoes to Rueben's shop on the Upper West Side. He always did beautiful work and the price was very reasonable. After the pandemic, he closed shop and told me he was going to the Leather Spa. Being a loyal customer, I decided to take my shoes/other repair work to him at the Leather Spa even though the location is not convenient for me. I was very surprised when the quote for reheeling a pair of ankle boots at the Leather Spa (a pair that Rueben had reheeled multiple times over the years) was over double what he used to charge. Ditto for replacing a zipper pull on a handbag. However, I chalked the significant price hike to the fact that midtown rent is likely more expensive. Rueben told me that the two items would be ready in two weeks. Seventeen days later when I still hadn't heard from the Leather Spa, I called. Rueben then told me that the items would be done at the end of the week (3 weeks after I had brought them in.) When I called again at that point, I was told by a different employee that the handbag was done but the shoes were at the warehouse and weren't done. I was upset and was transferred to Rueben. He told me opposite regarding my two items; also said that the two week time frame was intended as "just an estimate." When I expressed my displeasure, neither he nor the other employee with whom I spoke made any effort to make amends (i.e. offering to deliver the items free of charge would have been a good start); instead, they both claimed to not be in charge.I will not be returning to the Leather Spa.

The quote on their website is totally different what you going to pay for your shoes cleaning. Quote on website is $35 for my suede shoes and they asked for $135+ in person. Waited for 2 weeks to have my shoes cleansed and the suede were off color and turned extremely dry.

I came in here looking to repair my work shoes. They told me 2-3 weeks to get them finished. 5 weeks later they still aren't ready. Leather Spa told me and my party that we misheard them and said they told me 5+ weeks. No accountability...

This used to be the best shoe repair in NYC. But the last three times I've brought my shoes here, I was quoted outrageous prices for ( what turned out to be) shoddy work. When you ask them to explain a price- what they are doing to the shoes, they are unclear and roll their eyes at you as if you are silly to ask. And their prices structure seems not to be based on the actual work they need to do. For example, when I asked them to do a repair for a pair of Black shoes, they quoted me the same price they had quoted me for a pair of identical-except-they-were-hot-pink shoes, which had supposedly been extra to cover a hard to match dye job. When I asked why the price was the same & pointed out that they didn't have to dye anything hot pink this time, I got another 'eye roll".Maybe they're just used to dealing with ultra wealthy people who don't care about spending $100+ on a single simple shoe repair. Maybe they figure the work they do doesn't have to last so they can half ass it, but all I know is that they used to do amazing work, and now they do worse work than I can get from my local cobbler. I won't be back,

I went here to have a bag smoothed and conditioned and they quoted me $200. The bag was only $300 brand new a year ago...I took it to another repair shop in the LES and was only charged $20 for the same service. This place is a scam.

I've only ever mailed shoes into them but my experiences have been fantastic. The 2 most recent items I sent in were a pair of Christian Louboutin ankle boots that I wanted to change the heel style on and a pair of Valentino Rockstud ankle boots that I wanted a zipper added to. Both came back looking amazing and exactly what I wanted. For both orders, once they got the boots, they sent an email with options to choose from so I was able to choose the heel style/size and the zipper color that I wanted. You can't tell the heels on the CL's aren't original. The originals were just too skinny to be comfortable but the new thicker heels are perfect. The zipper on the Valentino's make them much easier to wear (no more buckling/unbuckling every time I want to put them on and take them off). I always pay the $40 for the rush service mostly because I hate UPS ground (I live on the west coast and it takes forever from NY). The longest they've had my shoes with the rush service is about a week so I highly recommend paying the extra fee.

DO NOT COME HERE! I brought my Louboutins for a sole repair/a rubber sole, and was talked into getting the heel tip switched to rubber. I was like whatever fine. Keep in mind that I only wore these shoes ONCE and only the red on the sole bottom was ruined, but there was NOTHING wrong with the leather. It was in perfect condition, and I even checked the entire shoe before dropping them off (I should have taken pictures for proof). There was no marks or anything to the leather, I was 100% sure. When I got the shoe back, I noticed that the heel on the right shoe had a dent and there was a mark/hole where the leather was missing. I called and asked what happened, they told me to come in. Waste of my time. They gaslighted me and said it was like that when I brought it, but I knew for a fact it was not. The manager and 3 different associates all surrounded me saying it was my fault, and that if I wanted it fixed I had to pay for a whole new heel installation. I was so mad but what can I do without proof? Don't come here, it is absolute bull. They will make mistakes and blame the customer instead of taking accountability. DO NOT bring your expensive items here, they clearly do not care.

The Leather Spa is the only place I go to rehabilitate my luxury goods. Are they expensive...we'll that's subjective isn't it? However, if you care to maintain your expensive designer pieces than you should probably expect a designer price to keep them looking as you want. I've heard their mail in service isn't as good as in person. I've never actually tried to mail in my pieces but that was what a friend told me. It was also her first time frequenting Leather Spa so keep that in mind. Nevertheless, I'm giving 5 stars because of my personal experience. Their staff is amazing at all locations, their timing is extremely long, they will accommodate you as best possible. Just remember that they will NEVER guarantee that it will be perfect but they will do their best. I always recommend Leather Spa to those who appreciate quality...good luck

HORRIBLE!! DO NOT TAKE LEATHER GOODS HERE I took my LV purse to get cleaned as it unfortunately got stained from black jeans. The guy at the front desk took a look at it and brought it to the back to ensure they could clean it, He came back out and told me they could with the warning that if they couldn't get it cleaned I still had to pay. I handed my purse over and paid. I got my purse back and it looks like it got ran over!!! This purse was brand new (literally worn it twice) and only needed the back to be cleaned. The front looks like they scrubbed so hard the leather is now worn/wrinkled. The back of the purse (where the black stain was) has nicks all in the leather. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with this service. The first picture is is taken at The Leather Spa before turning my purse over. The others are the aftermath of their poor service!!!

Great experience at this location. Brought in my sneaker to get fixed and I was told it will take about 5 minutes to get fixed. Unfortunately, it took a lil longer about 15 minutes but the gentleman at the front desk brought out sneaker and told me it's free of charge. It was Definitely unexpected and appreciated.

Having known that Leather Spa is Christian Louboution's unofficial official repair shop for quite a while, I wanted to wait until I could actually take my Loubs to a physical Leather Spa store. Sure, they can do it all online, but nothing beats doing something personally. So on my latest New York trip, my shoes were sufficiently beat up enough after almost two years of wearing them to justify a trip here. Staff here are great. I really wasn't sure whether to go for a full redo of the red lacquer, which quite honestly I didn't see the point of because the second you walk out the door it's getting scratched again, or the red rubber sole, which I wasn't sure about at first but warmed up to once they told me how they did it. Basically, they scratch off all the remaining red lacquer on the bottom of the shoe and then put the rubber sold there so that it's evenly layered with the remaining lacquer. After discussing my options with staff, I decided to go with the rubber sole, because quite honestly as much as the lacquer is the trademark Louboutin feature, I'm not going to waste my time redoing it again and again and again. Also, my shoes did feature some general wear and tear, so I needed that fixed. They grabbed my address and told me it would be about 3-4 weeks to ship back home to California. Obviously, I couldn't write this review without actually receiving the shoes and evaluating their work. I can see why Christian Louboutin himself has blessed Leather Spa. The red rubber sole fits perfectly, and all the scratches and imperfections my shoes had gathered over the nearly two years of use were all buffed out. Honestly, it almost felt as if my shoes were new again. I am extremely happy with the work Leather Spa did. Staff were great on explaining exactly how everything would work, and the shoes were fixed as described. Since I have yet another pair of Loubs, I'll definitely bring them to Leather Spa once I need to

This is the second time I have used Leather Spa to care for multiple high and moderate end shoes from Louis Vitton, Chloe, Valentino, Channel, Dolce and Gabbana to Vince Cammuto. Every shoe came back as good as new and I a very reasonable timeframe!!! They repaired distressed toe tips for leather and and fabric shoes where you could not even tell the damage as well as fully refreshing heavily worn favorite boots. I highly recommend these guys to extend the life of your favorite shoe! Suzy

1 start for the clean space 1 star because the lady helping me out was somewhat pleasant. So I go into have my backpack repaired. Once of the straps had come undone. A simple fix, though. You just need to insert it back in and then sew. So the lady looks at it and says "it's going to take about three weeks." Three weeks!? Really!? On something that would only take 5 minutes to fix? But having never had a bag repaired, I'd deal. Then she tells me it's going to cost $96 (NINETY SIX DOLLARS!!!!!) to fix. Let that sink in... 3 weeks.. and for $96. So I left and went to a shoe repair place a block and a half away and the nice guy looks at it and says "That's going to be $15. Would you like to pick it up today?" Which place do you think I went with.. LeatherSpa.. what are you thinking!?
