My co-workers and I took the 5-week class "Introduction to Welding and Metal Sculpting". It was an incredibly enjoyable and educational experience. Michael was able to teach us basics and technical aspects of welding in a relatively short time. I was able to make a sculptural side table. I highly recommend this class to anyone who is interested in building a metal project and acquiring a new skill!

Not only is Michael a crazy talented designer and fabricator, but he's a wonderful teacher. We took his five-week welding class (3 hours, once a week) and learned the basics of multiple welding techniques, how to handle various power tools, and even designed and built our own pieces. I left with a great piece of highly functional furniture that will live in my home forever. Can't recommend this class and his work highly enough. Accessible for total beginners or more experienced creators alike.

I just finished the intro welding class with Michael. After learning the fundamentals of several different welding techniques and metal shop machines he then helps you design and build a project of your choosing. Michael is very knowledgeable in metalworking and a great teacher. Would definitely recommend any one interested in metal working to take the class.

Micheal is an excellent teacher, he takes time to explain well and is quite knowledgeable to solve your questions related to working with metal. I recently took the program "Introduction to Weld and Metal Sculpting" and am quite satisfied with all of what I learned in it. Totally recommendable if you are interested in getting started in metal fabrication.

Michael Daniel does beautiful work. He has made a few pieces of custom furniture for me for very reasonable prices, and done quickly. He was very patient with me in the process of refining the designs.

I took Michael's class last winter and I have to say it was really great. He is a gifted teacher and his shop has everything you need to learn how to learn some good and basic welding techniques. Furthermore, he is happy to help you learn some more advanced methods if you ask. I had joined because I have an old car I want to rebuild. I was able to do all the mechanical work, but welding always intimidated me as I was never trained. He took the mystery out of the process and showed me how simple the concepts are. That said, welding is easy, but I found out that making GOOD WELDS takes a little practice. When my project got destroyed in my office by a well meaning employee, Michael invited me back in to his shop, after my time in the class was done, showed me where my welds were flawed, and helped me to fix it.Great guy. Great experience. I highly recommend.

Just completed the MIG welding class with Michael. Overall the class was enjoyable even for someone like me who welded in the past. Like any skill you can always learn more and improve your skills. The first few sessions Michael goes over the equipment and tools you will be using. He goes over stick welding, oxy torch (heating and cutting) and MIG welding. All of it is hands on so you get a chance to hold the tools and Michael will help you with tool use, stance, and posture. Once you're familiar with the tools you're tasked with coming up with your own design on what you want to make. Michael will review your design and order the metal for you. While you're working on your project Michael will give you guidance along the way and correct you if you're using the tool incorrectly. He's there if you need the help and leave you alone if you're good. I took the class during covid and Michael made sure everyone wore a mask and temp checks were done before every class. Work benches are far enough apart so you're not too close to others. Overall great class. It's metal shop class for adults. If you ever wanted to learn how to weld this is a good class to get you started. Keep in mind this is not an official welding course where you're a certified welder after you're done.

I am very pleased with my decision to take this course. I thought it was informative, hands on, and well planned. Michael is a great teacher that allows each student to watch and then perform the activity being taught. Not only have I learned the basics of a valuable trade skill, I have a completed side table to show for it. I highly recommend this course for anyone interested in learning the basics of welding.

I've always wanted to learn how to weld and finally decided to make the next step. After researching places to learn, I quickly found that Michael's course was the most comprehensive and unique studio, more so than any other out there in the NYC area that isn't an official class to get a NYS welding certificate. His class is comprehensive, informative, and so fun! He walks you through shop safety, the tools we use, and the three forms of welding. The best part is that you get to pick your own project and build it! I made a beautiful coffee table with some found object legs from Old Good Things combined with the materials he provided, included with the course. The satisfaction it brought is a powerful feeling and very inspiring. I've already signed up for the independent study! I highly recommend this class as he is a true artist, amazing at teaching his craft, and a good guy.

Dina's experience was similar to my own, except I'm a POC. Totally annoying. Maybe something the teacher doesn't notice but it's totally a thing.

He is an outstanding craftsman who specializes in instructing people of all skill levels. Students make their own piece to take home as part of the class. I have seen the commercial and residental work he does; it is top notch.
