Love it! Decent HO collection and HUGE Lionel collection. This is the only brick and mortar store TrainWorld in Brooklyn is only a warehouse with online orders only so do not bother trying to visit the Brooklyn location. Oh, and Bobby from The Sopranos was offed in this store in the infamous Lionel Blue Comet scene and there's tons of memorabilia.

I had been a life long customer of train land. My first train I purchased in 1988 from there. I came in this week to service it. A man named Sal took my locomotive gripped the body with one hand, and put three fingers around the cowcatcher, and he snapped it off right in front of me. He then said "You had a loose cowcatcher you should keep this piece and fix it." He wasn't apologetic at all in the slightest. I brought this just to be oiled, not be manhandled.I don't have four hours of time to hold these pieces together and set a bond with epoxy. I really wish I did have the time. He should offer the time . Anyways, I'm really upset. When I go inside that store now, the sense that I get is that one that they're superior and have no competition so they don't care about customer service.So yeah, Sal ruined my train, and I learned a lesson. Wish you better luck then I had. - Former lifelong customer.

Trainland is a fantastic store with multiple layouts on display; huge selection of all scales. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and take their time to explain the products, along with helping customers troubleshoot. The online store (Trainworld) is my goto place for buying all things trains. They ship quickly, prices are competitive, and they stand behind the products they sell. Trainland continues to excel at providing that in person experience in the age where brick and mortar hobby stores continue to close. Highly recommend visiting and buying something there. They have everything from the Thomas trains for kids to the extremely high-end hobbyist quality products.

Called the store and was put on hold . 30 minutes later I hung up . I called back 2 hours later and they never picked up the phone .

I bought a train from them for my husband for Christmas. They shipped it in a box with their name all over it and ruined my Christmas surprise for my husband. Then, when I called to discuss, the lady who answered the phone told me she didn't think a box shipping in mid December would be for Christmas and it was my fault. Then she hung up on me. I also spoke to the owner who basically said the same thing but also suggested I could return the train at my expense. I'd suggest people buy trains somewhere where customers matter.
