This was the worst rental experience I have ever had. We waited 2 1/2 hours for our truck. Other customers were waiting for hours as well. Completely incompetent service and he over charged us which I am disputing. Stay far away from this place.

You don't know what customer service is until something goes wrong and someone steps into fix it. Randy knows exactly how to do that. I booked a 16' truck a couple days in advance. Even though I knew we wouldn't need all the space, I chose the truck because I wanted the ease of carrying up a ramp. My friend and I drove the 50 minutes to pick it up early in the morning. We were in a hurry because my friend had to get back to work. When we got there, they informed us there was no truck but that they would have one in 45 minutes. We said we couldn't wait. Randy told us to go back home and he would have a couple of guys bring the truck. A couple of hours later the truck arrived but they had forgotten the blankets that I ordered. Very frustrated now, I called Randy again and he said he was on his way to bring blankets. I told him that was great but my whole morning was wasted. I was supposed to have loaded the truck and gotten on the road. He said he would make it right by helping us load the truck. When he arrived and saw what we had to load he suggested that the truck was very big and that the cargo van would have fit everything. He explained it rode low so it was just as easy as loading the truck with the ramp. Since he had driven a cargo van to deliver the blankets he offered to switch the truck and van out. He then helped wrap the furniture and loaded everything into the van. He went above and beyond to fix the situation and I was quite grateful. I was also glad I didn't have to drive the 16' truck!

You know, I should have known better. I read the reviews - very few of them were positive. I thought I would have a better experience (spoiler alert: I did not).Same basic story: I made the reservation several weeks in advance, I received a call that morning around 7:30am telling me that there were no trucks available. The guy who called me told me that he would "make some phone calls" and call me back, which he did. Around 8:30am he called me and told me that he could get me a truck by 1:00pm that day. This was clearly unacceptable because a) I did not believe him (what would lead me to believe this would happen since he was unable to honor the first timeframe), and b) I needed a truck at 9:00am like I had booked weeks earlier. I immediately hung up and made a reservation on my cell phone for the U-Haul in Stamford. It was a couple of bucks more (literally), but hey they had trucks! This Budget location should be shut down, and I have contacted corporate to share this opinion with them. What a horrible operation.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. We made a reservation for a 15 foot truck and a car tow trailer for our move to Florida. Two hours before we were scheduled to pick up our rental we got a call from the manager saying that they did not have our truck or trailer avaliable but a truck would definitely be avaliable tomorrow. The trailer was currently in Virginia but he was trying to get someone to drive it up. Mind you we were in Connecticut so Northern Virgina is a 5.5 hour drive at best. At the end of this conversation the manager said he would call us back at 11 am to let us know if our truck was going to be avaliable that day. Of course he did not call back and we had to call him. At this point he tells us that the truck will not be avaliable that day but it would PROBABLY be avaliable the folowing day. My husband told the manager that probably was unacceptable. We had made a reservation and the company should honor that reservation. The manager continued to say it was very likely we would have a truck available tomorrow but would not make any promises. My husband called the corporate number and explained the situation to a customer service rep. The CSR asked if we were willing to drive to a different location (we were willing to drive up to 50 miles) and if our move date was flexible (it wasn't). The CSR said he would call back with a solution within two hours. He never called back. Budget Rental completely failed us. We were lucky to find that the Stamford Penske location had a truck avalaible that weekend. I would not recommend Budget to my least favorite coworker.

The guy who answered the phone acted like it was a huge inconvenience that i was calling him. Very poor customer service. No Class!!! Only getting one star becuase I Cant put 0
