I have been going to Joe for so many years - this review is long overdue!I just went again the other day to buy a special gift, and also get my bracelet fixed - this lovely man takes care of me every time. Been going for years, and more than anything, I really appreciate his honesty. When dealing with expensive items like these, it's nice to know there are still some people who you can trust. (lord knows, I've also seen to many you cannot trust).Highly recommend - and for me, definitely going back next week to buymyself a well deserved early bday gift! Thanks Joe - keep up the great service!5 stars for sure!!

More the just a thief in my opinion he's extremely dishonest and sneaky. Don't buy from this vendor. Don't even walk into the store if you value your money!

Joe is a nice & interesting guy. I'd rather go to a local "Mom & Pop" small business that's family owned as opposed to all these huge faceless monolithic corporations that are destroying small businesses, buying them up, putting them out of business by pricing them out or using other hostile business tactics to dominate the "little guys." Too often we shop or order from the Amazon's, Costco's or Walmarts & even corporate franchise food companies are starting to pop up around NY. Anyway, there is something to be said about having a relationship with the store's owners & knowing them rather than dealing with an impersonal mega company. Been to the store several times over the years for watch adjustments, repairs, etc He gave me a very fair price on some jewelry & watches I sold which I was very happy about. He'll work with you. I don't know why he has some bad reviews. If you deal with Joe or one of his family, you should get great customer service & no issues. So try to support local small business even if you have to pay more. Jeff Bezos doesn't need to buy another space ship. He has plenty of money. Put it back in to the community. Hope this is informative or helpful.

This is my go-to place for beautiful pieces that Joe designs himself, unique estate finds, appraisals, as well as to fix my jewelry. Joe is always fair and consistently does excellent high quality work. Highly recommend.

I have some knowledge of precious metals and current values, so I would not consider myself an uninformed seller. I sold a variety of small items to Joseph Anthony and he offered a fair price. He evaluated each item carefully and was both friendly and polite in responding to questions. There were no pressure tactics. I would highly recommend him to a friend seeking to liquidate jewelry or items containing gold or silver. It was not only a welcome surprise dealing with him, but also a pleasure.

Condescending attitude about watch repair. Said we 'should a more expensive watch.' Seriously?

Bought a green garnet gem stone ring from here. Brought back to get it sized, picked it up and the stone turned blue... when asked they said garnets are known for changing colors... Brought the ring to another jeweler and they said the stones in fact don't change color and that I was ripped off. Either the stone was fake from the jump or they changed it out during sizing since that took all day. After this experience I will be taking my business elsewhere, where I'm not lied to and sold fake s**** I don't care about the money, plenty of it. It's the principal and scam type of business. Highly disappointed.

Mr. Anthony designed several pieces for me from existing items I had. His designs are beautiful, and different. He is very creative, patient, personable. He is definitely a master craftsman.

About a month ago i went to Joseph Anthony's to have my engagement ring setting fixed because i lost one of the smaller stones on the side of the ring. The jeweler told me he could fix the prong that broke and replace the stone for $200 so I left it to be fixed. I have used this jeweler before and liked him until now. After paying him the $200 the stone fell out about a month later and the prong broke again, I'm in my late 50s and careful with my jewelry. When I went back to see him today, I was very disappointed by the response I got. The jeweler, Joe, never came out from the back of the store and, instead, told his worker out loud that I broke the prong again and that there is only so much that he can do and that the setting is old and worn and I need to replace it for a cost of an additional @ $500. Had he told me a month ago that the setting was so worn that it was likely to fail again and recommended that I get a new setting then I would have. Instead, he purportedly fixed it (but not well), charged me $200 and said nothing about it being old and that it might fail again in a few weeks. Had he told me that i would have not have spent the initial $200 if the prong was likely to fail, I just would have replaced it with a new setting. I'm very disappointed in how Joe treated me today; first his rudeness in not coming to the front of the store and talking to me, second in not standing behind his work and third in not telling me when he did the initial repair that it likely wouldn't work. I will find a new jeweler.
