Took care of me in past as well as in ER visit on a night when half of New York was there! Kudos. Hospitals suck but the professionalism of doctors and staff is very good.

We took my grandma here because she was having chest pains and she was admitted. The wait was long but RN Crystal in the ER department and James brown in the EVS department took such good care of her. She arrived there in pain and left with smiles. They both deserve raises. They treated us like family!

Pre surgery test at Monti pavillion:take Entrance #3, stay on right lane for parking on the right (parking is across from hospital). Get a parking ticket from the machine (dont forget to ask pre-surgery check in counter for a barcode sticker, otherwise you’ll be charged for parking).Walk across the street to the hospital. Check in to confirm your appointment on the first floor where they will give you a clearance badge w a bar code to scan thru turnstiles to enter the hospital. Map was also provided, yet I still got lost. Had to take the Levitt elevators, which was a few turns on long corridors, And was given wrong information by employees who were trying to help but i dont think they get a chance to wander the grounds of the hospital much, lol. Finally found the levitt elevators to 3rd floor where there were signs directing you to pre-surgical testing. Signed in & Had to wait to check in. Check in person asked many personal questions to verify info, requiring signatures.Called in, took weight, blood , bp, eyes , throat checked as well as breathing. Katy and i think Ricky(?) were friendly, patient and kind.

Dr. Kohil, Urvashi, 3 Cohen, is the worst doctor I have ever had to encounter. Doctors were openly violiting HIPPA by having "ROUNDS" meetings in the center of the unit. This is not a closed off area.I heard them talk about my case from down the hall. She was very nasty, rude, unprofessional, and loved to talk down to me. Northshore should udoubtedly fire her. Also, they denied me my medication the night before discharge although it was in my chart. The behavior from the PAs and Doctors is deplorable and Northshore should be aware of this. Otherwise, I will turn to NYS for patient abuse.

What happened to this wonderful hospital that my family used exclusively for the last 10 years? Before and after covid is different hospital. Rude nurses and unreasonably long wait times. With all excessive federal funding 2020-2022, they keep building and building instead of investing in care.

I dealt with plenty of hospitals, but this place is awesome. The emergency room was great. They not only comforted the patient, but they kept my family reassured. From the parking, to the front desk, to the security, all was a breath of fresh air. The smiles and warm conversation was refreshing. My sister had a stoke and was admitted to the Cohen building fourth floor. That staff was so professional and empathic that we felt like family. The doctors, nurses, therapist, and pca"s are the greatest. The food was delicious, and they cleaned the room two to three times a day.Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!

I was just there for a disc replacement surgery and I cannot say enough good things about my experience. Literally every single staff member I came in contact with had a smile on their face with a positive attitude and calming presence. From the food service employees, janitors, nurses, doctors, surgeons, anesthesiologists, admin, and everyone in between. A special shoutout to the post-op team for taking care of me coming out of surgery, I was in rough shape and they handled it so well. Hospital workers are angels on earth <3

I brought my wife to the ER on Saturday (12/02/2023) due to a medical condition. She was checked in, examined by the ER doctor and was admitted to the hospital. We waited and waited in a room in the ER. On Sunday, the ER staff said they needed the room for another patient. They moved her out of the room, put her to wait in the hallway. I complained about this since my wife is also a cancer patient, her immune system is suppressed. They then moved her into a "Holding Area" to wait for a regular room. It's now Monday (12/04/2023) and still in the ER waiting for a regular room. We're on the 3rd day waiting in the ER to get a regular room for my wife. I spoke to the head nurses, waiting on a Manager to speak with but no one can tell us if or when a patient room will be available. I'm in the process of transferring her out from this hospital to another one.Never again would I come to this hospital in an emergency situation and would definitely not recommend anyone to go through this, to experience what we are going through.

I honestly don't know any part of the hospital other than the emergency room. We went in and waited five and a half hours. With my 95-year-old mother. And they never even took her blood pressure. At one point I said to them she's 95 years old can she at least lie down somewhere, and they said no. Then we went home having never had anyone even talking to us. We were hoping to just wait till Monday cuz it was a Saturday and then go to the doctor's. But as we couldn't we called the ambulance and went to another hospital - St Francis. They were absolutely amazing and kind. Took our blood pressure within a half hour of arriving and continued taking tests during samples and scans. Everything we needed. I am actually writing a review from here. That's all I know for now but

Patient got admitted into ICU due to high blood pressure. The team can't find the cause but wanted to discharge him with rehab on balance and strength. I had trouble understanding their treating symptoms rather than etiology, just inquire what might be the cause if we rule out silent stroke. One resident doctor Chang impatiently replied you have been repeating the same thing over and over again. We don't know the cause and there are many cases like yours. Truly appalled at her unprofessional remarks and very disappointed with the experience at the hospital.

I recently been a patient here after giving birth to my child. I stayed in the Katz Women's Hospital part of North Shore University Hospital. The after care in recovery was amazing by the doctors, nurses and staff. I can't say enough how well everyone cared for us. The nurses made sure we had enough supplies for the baby and my recovery and even gave some to bring home with us. The doctors and nurses made sure to check on my incision around the clock to make sure I was healing well after emergency surgery. The in room dining was surprisingly good for hospital food. There was a good variety of selections to choose from. I ordered from the regular menu, but I'm sure the other dietary menus also must have been great. I was in a private room which was very clean, spacious and had its own bathroom with sink, toilet and shower. The staff had constantly restocked and changed out trash. The only minor complaint I would have is the hospital bed itself. It's not that comfortable to sleep on and it gave me some back pain that I ended up sleeping on the bench that was firmer and folds out to a bed.

I brought a loved one here due to a sudden onset of symptoms, that they had never experienced before. They spent one night in the ER, and then about 5 days at 9 Monti (neuro).Every single doctor and nurse that we dealt with was gentle and caring, and helpful. The doctors did a great job diagnosing and treating the patient, and the condition.
