Definitely needs more training on client services, from sales staff to manager.
I was visiting the store along with my two young children. As I was browsing the store, my 3 year old would like to use restroom. I checked with a sales staff (an Asian lady with glasses), she said no restroom in the store and nearby one is at the concierge. The concierge was closed and we had to walk further to Herschel. All is good until we came back to Tory Burch. I made a purchase and subsequently saw there was a restroom in the back.
I spoke with the manager why I was told that there wasn’t a restroom in the store. The manager started to make up things that oh maybe when you came, it was very crowded and there was a line that’s why the staff was directing you somewhere else. Excuse me? A sales staff, at a busy time, rather than spending time helping customers, was focusing on whether restroom is busy to disallow customers using it? Secondly, I should have been informed that there is a line at the Tory Burch’s restroom but another one further down the hall. It would be my choice whether I chose to wait in store, or take a 5min walk to another. Both sales staff and the store manager were just LYING.
They simply do not want people to use their restroom. If you don’t welcome non-paying clients, just speak it out loud. If that’s the case, don’t position yourself as a semi-luxury brand. Your behaviors just don’t match the brand Tory Burch is creating.
We went to Herschel, and they never question whether we are paying or not.
I made a purchase at Tory Burch but was refused to use their restroom.
I did not make a purchase at Herschel but accessed to their restroom without problem.
Getting conflicting messages from the Tory Burch store manager. Please Don’t lie or make up reasons, simply apologize and admit you just don’t want random people to access your restroom. People would appreciate your candidacy and they can’t argue with you.
When leaving the store, I asked the Sales Staff “there IS a restroom here, why did you say no?”. This lady could not answer, turn around her body, and didn’t speak a single word. A sales lady like her should get hired. No manner, ignorance, and no empathy.
I used to be a loyal customer to Tory Burch, and this experience made me think twice.

Ive been having a hard time to pick what color and size since Im so torn for their tote bag. Meanwhile, shes really kind and offered me different color and size without me asking. Shes a gem! Great experience here! I came in looking for two particular sandals. I was helped by Alicia who was very sweet and patient. I ended up purchasing a slide and matching handbag. I was also pleasantly surprised when I received an email from Alicia thanking me for my purchase and she also remembered things that we spoke about while I was shopping. I felt very appreciated as a customer. I will definitely be back to this location!
