Let me start off by saying i hate this king kullen but it's so convenient. i came in last week for my weekly cold cuts and the fat lady was working the deli counter. when i tell you she is the nastiest most miserable person i have EVER met. all she ever does is bitch about her job and is rude to customers. i'm standing at the deli counter for 20 MINUTES today waiting for my kiosk order to be called ( i already got everything else i needed ) never before me? called. number after me? called. mine was not. not once did they ask me why i was standing there or if i was being helped. instead she lastly asked in the nastiest attitude "what are you waiting for" and made a face. then mumbled something snarky. i've been in customer service for 9 years and i have never ever would have thought about acting/talking to customers like her. this store needs to get control of their employees and put them through extensive customer service training. on the bright side, the guy Mario i believe his name was who checked me out was beyond sweet!!!

BEWARE check all expiration dates! This has to be the WORST King Kullen on the island. I give it one star for the few employees that are nice and helpful otherwise they'd get zero. You have to check the expiration dates on everything. I have on several occasions purchased outdated items and I don't mean by a couple days I mean by weeks and have had to be inconvenienced by driving back up to return the item. Customer service seems annoyed when you bring an item to them instead of being apologetic. I mentioned one such item on the shelf to the manager and when I went back the following week the items were still there. I try not to go here whenever possible but sometimes it's just out of convenience. Store never has enough check outs open. Who is managing this place and who is overseeing the poor management!! Go elsewhere!

Unpleasant. The pharmacist and a customer were giving each other their numbers. Mind you they are both married so apparently it’s an affair here guys. Dispicable . Never in my life , animals.

I grew up near this grocery, and it was fun to come back to it for a visit over Christmas break. My dad was saying how he always loved their red skin potato salad, so I got him a pound of that and got my mom a 20 pound sack of Carolina rice (which, ironically, seems nowhere to be found around here. Please let me know if it is here in the triad somewhere...anyway, they renovated it recently, and it looks nice and clean like a Whole Foods vibe.

If I could do no stars, I would. My wallet broke at the cashout and I thought I got all my cards but missed a$100 gift card to Shoprite. I realized it a couple of hours after I got home. I went back and the nice young cashier said "Teresa found a card _ check up front". The card was not there. I asked for the manager who seemed quite annoyed with the cashier for telling me that and was whispering to the young cashier so I wouldn't hear. I showed him the receipt from Shoprite showing $24.73 left on the card. I was told Teresa left early (I guess so) He said he would contact teresa. The next morning he called early and was happy to report he had the card, that it was in the wrong place. I was happy to pick it up until I checked the balance of $24.73 was reduced to 69 cents. I called the manager Marty and he put words in my mouth and said he had to turn it over to corporate. Corporate Security has now investigated ME.!! Tom Moore, security said "it looks good for you" and Director Stan Jacobsen (retired NYPD he says) will finally allow my $24.04 released , not altogether sure that I do not make a career of cheating grocery stores out of $24.04 at a time. He has to make sure they are not accusing an innocent person, even checking cameras at Shoprite!! a serious corporation would make sure the customer was happy and conduct internal investigations privately. King Kullen has now lost over $4000 a year in sales and prescriptions over $24.04.

We have lived in this area for 6 years. Over time, customer service has declined. Last week was the final straw. My husband went in to pick up an item that the store manager told him would be behind the courtesy counter. He went to ask, and the young "lady" (using the term loosely) stopped him mid sentence and said they didn't have it. He asked her to page the manager and she said no. He asked her if she could get someone to check the back and she said "no, we don't carry that". (Not true!) He walked to the back of the store, and found someone to get the item for him. He brought it back up front and told her they they DID have it and that she shouldn't be rude and lazy. As he checked out, she screamed across the store that he could go "F*#@ himself!!". Everything and everyone stopped and stared at her. My husband has since repeatedly tried to contact the store manager and he has yet to return a call. We will not go back to that store ever.. I will drive to Riverhead and go to ShopRite. Kim P

The worst!!! (This excludes SOME of the friendlier workers there; tho they're few & far between). Disappointed that the supposed buyout prior to the pandemic fell thru b/c 1) King Kullen is SO overpriced 2) they rarely have enough check out lines available (who does their cashier scheduling??)... Went today for full grocery shopping mid week, mid morning. Only 1 register open (express) so went to self checkout.. What a fiasco! My FULL grocery shopping will be done in Riverhead from now on!! It's unfortunate for local residents that we're forced to pay high prices locally, & spend too much time there b/c they don't schedule enough workers. Seems nothing has changed in 11 years after reading all reviews. Sad administrators don't heed suggestions. PS HEY TRAVELERS TO THE EAST END IF YOU MUST GIVE KING KULLEN YOUR BUSINESS TRY THE K.K. IN PATCHOGUE (sunrise &waverly) it's larger & there more workers!! Or better yet 2 different options in Riverhead.

Question: Why is King Kullen charging a nickel for every crap paper bag needed for carrying out groceries, during a pandemic? Yes, I know there is a law, but If you are going to charge for these bags, then order more durable bags.

How can King Kullen management allow people to gouge their aisles of food and not be mindful of the problem everyone is facing in accessing food and supplies, total disregard for their real customers and the elderly, at least Stop and Shop gives seniors a time to shop, they do not even deserve the one star rating

When we moved into the neighborhood we went here because it was close. From now on we will try to do better elsewhere. There were a number of annoyances that may seem small but they do add up. Such as. In New York the stores charge you a nickel per plastic bag. OK, that's the way it is but my wife got a torn bag And the cashier seemed ready to call the police because we took another one without paying. There is a sign on the door that says any photography is prohibited unless authorized by the manager. Seriously? Do they think that we are spies for ShopRite? There was only one line open for quite a few people and we had to do our own bagging which slowed things down. And oh yes, they don't even have the courtesy to provide Wi-Fi. The store is clean, the produce is fresh but not organic and the staff is helpful. Nonetheless next time we will try someplace else.

Deserves 0 stars. Ryan (who is supposedly the cover manager) informed me at 8:08 PM that he could not get me any clams from the seafood department because they closed at 8:00 PM and they are under a different union and he cant touch their product. What!?!? I am a local and shop at this store out of convenience but will now make the additional 5 minute drive for courtesy and common sense. Good job Ryan! Time for me to call Danny Wegman and put this store out of business. The Hamptons crew needs a Wegmans!
