The property includes pretty gardens, a lovely outdoor patio, a fire pit, a zen garden, and a beautiful Carriage House for relaxation. Homemade snacks, cookies, and chocolates are served in the afternoon. The hosts are extremely hospitable, friendly, personable, welcoming, accommodating, kind, and knowledgeable. They provide expert recommendations for local dining, hiking, and activities, including walkable waterfall dining. Their deep knowledge of local New York history is also frequently praised. My husband and I were in town for a friend's wedding and luckily Danskammer House was just down the street. Linda was incredibly welcoming and crafted the most delicious breakfast! We had a lovely (though quick) stay and hope to be back.
