The manager on staff named Donna Haines made me feel extremely uncomfortable during my visit at Petco. I watched her disrespect one of the groomers who appeared pregnant. From what I overheard the employee was in need of a break and Donna was rude and called her dramatic. When a manager is disrespectful to their employees infront of customers, it sets a tone. I don't appreciate this older woman belittling her employees - especially if they are pregnant. Customers: beware of supporting this store as the management is unprofessional.

Shame on Petco for selling beta fish in these tiny jars that people think are okay because they can survive in small spaces doesn't make it right. I've seen them depressed and and unhappy it's so very sad. Won't go back

Rude. Went in to make a simple return. Was on the line waiting my turn. When it became my turn, before I even started walking towards the register, the cashier loudly yells out"phone number", and I didn't answer her until I was actually in front of her. I put the two items I was returning WITH the receipt on top of the items down on the counter, clearly within view, and she says, 'what is this"?. I said 'what do you mean, what is this, it's a return', she says, 'because you didn't say so'. I didn't know I had to engage with this person about something that should have been abundantly clear and very obvious to her as being a return. Who would have put a receipt on items they wanted to purchase? This woman was just looking to start something about nothing, to make herself look like she had some importance. At this point I was holding the receipt, and she aggressively snatched it from out of my hand. When she was giving me back the receipts, she just held it for me to take, and turned her head the opposite way, no eye contact nothing, just a bad attitude, coming from a miserable, loud, obnoxious, unhappy person, who shows up for work, wanting to do the bare minimum, and still get paid. Barking at customers like she's a german shepard. She belong's in one of the cages in there wearing a muzzle, with a sign that reads, 'High strung, ready to pounce, aggressive, hostile, and unfriendly. Not good with people, other pets or children. Will need a lot of training and medication to pacify, so adopt at your own risk, hopeless case, stay away'.

Rude staff. Went to this Petco to see the animals and got told by a worker that" my time at the store was up" and that I needed to leave immediately. I would not recommend and would rather travel further to a nicer store.

I rated petco a 1 star because i was trying to communicate with my ferret friends and the staff rudely kicked me out they should consider hiring new staff I should have been treated better

Very friendly staff. Always greeted at the door. Coming here for many years and I never had a bad experience. I have not tried their other services but I believe they offer veterinary service, grooming, training, feline adoption.

My husband and I went into Petco to purchase a few things for our new puppy. Jen was amazing helping us find everything we were looking for. She gave us great advice and tips that will really be helpful. Petco is a smart employer to have hired someone like Jen who makes a huge effort to make customer service a priority! Thank you Jen!

yes the staff is great there. very helpful and nice. the guy who is always there is always there for any guestions. And Kayla the dog trainer is very good and has a lot of patience. and Cj who brings the dogs to adopt on the weekends is absolutely wonderful. just a great store with great happy employees who love dogs and cats!!! 5 stars for sure,,

The worst Don't bother Don't sign your dog up for training Bad experience The manger told me to call the 800 number to get a refund after I was told by customer service to call the store Bottom line all terrible bad experience don't waste your hard earned money here

The manager Donna is a very nasty woman. I needed help getting a certain dog food and she had an attitude with me. Her store is dirty and she clearly takes no pride in her work. I hope that Petco will hire new management.

I have a 15 year old male shihtzu that is incontinent and wears diapers-he was in desperate need of a haircut since my previous groomer went out of business due to COVID-I got an appointment at Petco in Massapequa and upon arrival I discussed my dogs issues/diaper rash-it happens-if anyone has a child they know! Anyway, I mentioned I applied diaper rash ointment, etc., she took my dog, I signed paperwork, etc., only to get a call 20 minutes later to pick him up because she didn't feel comfortable with the rash? She proceeded to tell me to take the diaper off and let it air out for a while??? What part of incontinent didn't she understand??? So if a child has a diaper rash your telling me to just leave it without a diaper so it can pee/poop all over??? No! You clean the area with the proper soothing agents then apply diaper rash cream/ointment and put the diaper back on!!! This is a groomer correct? Dogs skin is constantly irritated and my previous groomer would do an oatmeal bath or medicated shampoo??? They waisted my time for nothing! In 2 hours my dogs rash was gone! I had to cut his hair myself and I'm not a groomer yet I was able to do it! Pathetic amateurs! Never again!!!

I went today to get my dog vaccinated. I've had her for two months, a rescue. I expressed to the vet that she has major anxiety around new people, hence the barking so not to crowd around her. She says *in a snarky way* "Maybe you should take her back to Syosset where they're more well equipped to handle her" I literally never leave reviews but was so dumbfounded at the vet and vet techs' inability to be hospitable and loving to my dog. They were talking amongst themselves about her barking practically in front of my face. The vet also literally kept calling my dog crazy and told my sister to take her outside right after she'd vaccinated her to not scare her other dogs (at Petco). All around - a horrible experience and really genuinely concerned for the animals she works with! (I don't know her name but she was a brunette woman with glasses, 30-ish, probably older idk)
