“The most knowledgeable auto shop I’ve ever experienced! My car was in for a battery check and replacement, which I received at a very fair price—but I also received a mutipage detailed analysis of other issues requiring fixes prior to my next inspection, compete with photos. Very impressive! The shop is very busy (a good sign) and well staffed with smart people who are also very funny—a big plus. The customer room is clean and inviting. I’ll be returning to fix the issues identified in the fall and encourage everyone to bring your cars here. I sent the report to two of my friends who are looking for a new shop and they said they will definitely use this excellent place!
The above was the review I posted after receiving an inspection report. I’ve now had all the work done (plus some other problems that couldn’t be detected until the car was disassembled). I’m very pleased with the attention to detail that this large, friendly—and funny!—staff provides. The shop is always humming with business, which tells you all you need to know. Highly recommended!”

“Great people. I had them replace the transmission seals on my classic mercedes over the winter. After I resinstalled the tranny, it was leaking transmission fluid. Brought it in and they fixed MY mistake (loose banjo fitting) and installed new washers - NO Charge. I figured it might have been my mistake but I just didn't want to crawl under it again - I expected to pay something. They went above and beyond. A few years ago, they installed a rebuilt transmission in my explorer - it ran great. It's great when you can find a shop that knows what they are doing and you can trust.”

“My family and I have brought our cars to SBG for many years. Staffs are friendly and personable. They usually have availabilities when we call. Prices are reasonable and they work with you. Yesterday I brought my car in because the wiper was not working. Brock found the left ball joint was not installed properly and noticed a bubble in the rear tire. The ball joints were done by Honda Manhasset dealership last month (total cost $2000) and the bubble was not caught by Mobile shop that did the NYS inspection last week. Aside from the money and time spent, very disheartening to learn how irresponsible people can be and do such messy jobs without considering potential consequences. Serious car accidents could have occurred. Brock and his team went and fixed these problems. Glad to know shops like SBG are around.”

I’m a 71-year-old transportation professional, and I’ve known about Delta Transmission for decades—42 years, to be exact. I first became aware of them while working for an auto parts company, delivering parts to their shop. Every time I stopped by, I noticed the same thing: the place was packed. Never slow, always busy. That alone told me they were doing something right.
Over the years, I checked out their reviews and saw nothing but positive feedback, which only confirmed my impressions. I recommended several friends to them, and every one of them thanked me afterward for sending them to Delta—they were that impressed with the service.
About two weeks ago, I finally needed their help myself. The transmission in my 2017 Chevy Suburban LT failed—out of warranty—and I needed a reliable shop fast. I called John and made an appointment right away.
John took the vehicle in, explained that he would pull the transmission, and, as a courtesy for the customers I’ve referred to him over the years, he offered me a discounted price of $995 for the removal and installation (parts not included). He was a man of his word.
When everything was completed, the total bill for a brand-new rebuilt transmission with a heavy-duty converter—something I highly recommend for commercial-use vehicles like mine—was $3,995. I was honestly blown away. Anywhere else, the job could have easily cost $1,500 to $3,000 more. And the quality of the work was exceptional.
When I picked up the vehicle, John told me to take it easy for the first 500 miles—no jack-rabbit starts or stops—and then return so he could personally test-drive it and make sure everything was perfect. The work is backed by a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty (whichever comes first), which gave me even more confidence.
