Richard Williams is the assistant manager in the store and he is why I keep coming here. Yes I love the store but I see how he is with his employees and he is a great teacher. He is very knowledgeable about policies and products and he remembers me everything I'm there

I have went to journeys recently to buy brand new white shoes. I had to return them due to the size. On the bottom of the shoe, you can tell more than one person tried them on. When i went to return them their was a blonde, tall boy helping me. He was extremely rude as if he was never trained in costumer service. He was putting in his non- asked for opinion. I wanted to say, ''Who asked for your opinion?" He then realized he was irrelevant to the situation and go this manager who was super nice and helpful! All the workers in that store were always really nice too and it was just him who made my head feel like it was about to explode. I have never wrote a yelp review before but i think my experience with him was more than enough and a great first time.

Would give 0 stars if yelp allowed me to... the manager here was rude and did not know what customer service was. I came in to look at slides and ended up buying a pair. The manager was friendly during the sale, of course. We chatted a bit and she sold me the slides. I continued my day looking for other slides and found a better deal. So I came back to this Journeys to return the slides that I bought only an hour ago. The manager refused to let me return them saying that 'they were worn.' Which they weren't. I got them, with her, only an hour ago and she refused to give me a refund claiming that I worn them outside, mind you, it was raining ALL DAY. Why would I wear slides outside IN THE RAIN then proceed to return them? They would of been soaking wet. Regardless, she refused going on and on about how she can't take them back because she loses money on the slides and telling us things we don't need to know as customers. During the whole interaction, she did not make eye contact, nor was she friendly. She is a manager and did not know how to professionally go about a confrontation with a customer that she just rang up an hour ago. I understand policy's of a company, but as a manager at a retail store, manager discretion IS a thing that trumps store policy. During the confrontation, she accused me of 'wearing them around the mall.' Excuse me but I am a 21 year old female, I am not a 12 year old that walks around the galleria mall waiting for their mom to pick them up. I ended up leaving, wiping the 'dirt' off the bottom of the slides with my finger and also a baby wipe just to be extra safe that they were cleaner that what I must have purchased them as. I came back in the store and said 'hi, I would like to return these slides.' She then responded with 'look, you can't go to a shoe store expecting to return worn shoes.' I was incredibly discouraged with that being the first thing that she says to me after I walked into the store with 0 attitude and only looking for my refund with slides that I had to personally clean. She ended up refunding the slides after a bit more was said between her and I. To sum it up, the manager on duty on the morning of 8/2/18 needs some training on customer service. Managers are not corporate puppets, they are here to help with situations that customers have and give the best results leaving the customers happy with their time at their store. I hope she receives some tips on how to be a manager that can handle customer altercations and ultimately just learn how to treat customers with the best intentions instead of assuming the worse with everybody.
