I usually don’t leave reviews but I feel it’s important to share the experience I had with this company. I read a few other reviews regarding the ethics (or lack of) for this company and I feel people should be think twice or at least be careful when dealing with Sossi Formals.
I rented a set of suits for a wedding. It costs $20.00 deposit per suit and I paid the deposit for five suits ($100). I told my friends that I already helped them make the deposit so make sure Sossi formals doesn’t make you pay any deposit money. As expected, when my friends went, Sossi formals asked each of my friends again to make an additional deposit of $20.00 even though they KNEW I already made a $100.00 deposit for all my friends. I forgot to tell one of my friends and he ended up paying another $20.00 when Sossi Formals asked him to.
Even though it was just $20.00, I felt their actions were unethical so I called them to inquire about this. I asked them to return the extra deposit but the man working there was very rude and refused to return until after we rented the suits and returned all the suits (there was about three weeks left until the wedding and I didn’t have time to find another suit rental and I already made a ‘deposit’ so I didn’t want my money to go to waste). Not only did he say he wouldn’t return the extra money we paid, he was extremely unprofessional and was literally screaming at me when I said I would like to have the extra deposit money returned to me now. He hung up on the phone before I even finished talking.
Regarding the quality of suits, I think they were pretty good honestly. However, the fit of one of my groomsmen was off so he had a pretty baggy suit so make sure you try the suits on before leaving the store. Even though the quality was decent, they were no where near the astronomical price tag that I received when I received the suit. I ended up paying a little over $1000. Read below to see “why.”
Since I was the groom, I asked Sossi to rent one very good suit for myself and that the other four groomsmen suit could be of lesser quality for a cheaper price. I did some research and later learned that the person there actually gave me and my groomsmen the second most expensive suit in the store and added all the supposed upgrades that we didn’t ask for or didn’t know about.
Also, they have a deal (rent five suits, get one free) that they did not tell me about and only agreed to after I brought it up. I ended up renting six suits. However, for the final bill, I still had to pay an extra $20 because “free” actually meant paying the difference between the most expensive suit and the least expensive suit.
Weddings are very precious moments and people are willing to spend big bucks on it. But I don’t like how they take advantage of this to exploit people’s money.

So far so good! Our wedding is in 2 months so far I've found the woman that runs the store, very helpful and very friendly. She made it fun and easy to pick out Tuxedos.

GREAT PEOPLE....Went to Sossi in Middletown and ended up talking to the owner Sossi herself. I went there thinking of wearing one style tuxedo and after Sossi and my wife's input she helped me pick out a great looking gray Tuxedo with all the accessories. On pick up I dealt with Marcus who was very accommodating and made sure everything fit well. Had to make last minute adjustments but were done on the spot and fast. I highly recommend. Thank you to Sossi and all for your help in making it all stress free.

Great people. Great service. That personal touch you get from a family owned business that you don't get in the chain stores. These guys are great!

Sossi Formals is owned by my parents who have worked in the business for over 35 years. My brother and I owe everything to mom and dad's hard work and dedication (even grandma would sew any last minute alterations needed so people would look their best!). They treat everyone like family. Large corporations like Men's Wearhouse try to locate and put out small businesses like ours. Please help support small family-owned business for your prom, wedding or formal event! And if you have in the past, Thank You, and please pop in and say hi, mom usually remembers everyone!! 💕

Great family! Pleasurable experience. Always support small businesses, they are the true hard workers, not the big corporations who only want your money.

Sossi's formals was the outfitter for my wedding. They did a phenomenal job making sure all the measurements were taken timely and with such skill. The owners even located the style of tuxedo that I wanted, and had it shipped from Europe just in time for the big day! I am so grateful for Sossi's Formals for making their part of the wedding go without a hitch!
