I'm trying to take down a review that was written, but am unable to. The company I'm referencing is TRISTATEAREAMOVERSTORAG

I warn you! Do not use this mover and do not use them to store items. They are the worst. They load the truck and then make you pay double what they quoted and by Venmo so you can not latter cancel it. Then when they have it in storage, they misplace it. Then they schedule delivery and they don't show, don't call back. We spent 3 days staying home to have them not show and not be honest, each day stringing us along saying they will be there soon. And I see some reviews say get estimate in writing. Well that doesn't help when they have you standing there with all your stuff in the truck and demanding more money. These are the most dishonest people I have ever experienced in any field.

This company is very unprofessional. Moving is already stressful, and with Tristate it was that much harder. I was given a time; they came 3 hours later than the scheduled time. This cause us to get caught in traffic, costing me an additional 2 hours. my bill changed from $1500.00 to $2300.00 for 2 extra hours. when it would be $180.00 for each additional hour. I called the office, and a very rude manager felt the need to argue about my dissatisfaction rather than trying to resolve the situation. She eventually hung up the company's phone after telling me, I am a terrible customer. I called back asking to speak with another person in charge, he was on a call; I then asked for his name and was told they cannot give it to me. I am so disappointed (sigh) Worst company ever. Please do not use them. Stay away let my experience be your lesson.

Please DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Reason - I talk to a guy named Rich. I explained to him that I want to move - a total of 11 items with pictures and I told him I live on the 5th floor with no elevator and drop off on the 2nd floor with no elevator. He gave me a price and I agree with him and I told him that's a fixed price and nothing will be changed- is that right? He answered me yes. Then I received a text message 1 day before for delivery confirmation and I see a different price. I called right away Rich told me that just a machine-generated text and confirmed the price we agree. People came to pick up half an hour late. Picking up all my listed furniture. Before they drop off my furniture they told me I need to pay my balance which is not what I agreed and which is way too high. I call the office and Rich was off and a person name Avgi told me I have been charged by hours which is not mentioned by Rich. I am in that situation where if I don't pay they will not drop off my furniture. In that case, I was forced to pay. I did not check their review before otherwise with I will know how bad their service is. As you see most of the review is the same issue I had faced. I was informed that the person I talk Rich will come Monday. I called Monday and someone told me Rich will contact me but he did not, of course. The next day I call and talk to Rich and he told me that because of the 5th floor they charge more. He denied that I did not mention pickup will be 5th floor and no elevators which is a lie. I told him - ok if I did not mention that I live 5th floor is that not your responsibility to ask me which floor to pick up and is that stairs or an elevator? He did not answer me. My best suggestion DO NOT use them to have all the issues I faced.

I called them to set a moving date and time they gave me a total amount. I called back to negotiate they lowered the amount. I didn't look at the reviews before I contacted them. The reviews are not good at all. I went to cancel this morning I told them I had friends that were helping me. He was like well nothings really free, I was like these are my friends they are helping me for free. Then he had an attitude when I canceled and abruptly hung up.

To preface, the only reason I gave one star was because I couldn't give zero. My husband and I were relocating from LI to Syracuse recently and used this moving service. When we called to get a quote we were quoted $2,085, which was very reasonable. We decided to move ahead with the services. On the day of the move, the three men crew met us to start packing things up. Two of the three men, reeked of marijuana, but since the driver / lead crew member didn't, we decided to not send them away as we had a tight schedule. They promptly got to work wrapping up all of our items without suggesting we breakdown furniture any further to avoid breaking (which is an important detail for later). We stood with them the whole time as they were packing / wrapping ensuring if they needed us or had any questions we would be there to answer. They accidentally broke one of four glass shelves we had while packing stuff, which they did help clean up. Everything else was wrapped and packed with out issue. Once everything was on the truck, loaded and ready to go, I was informed that the quote we had, was not the correct amount. The lead crew member told us they had to adjust the quote for weight and square footage. Which they probably could have accounted for as we had provided them with an Itemized list prior to getting the first quote. Our quote was changed from $2,085 to $3,845.75. It seemed like they originally quoted us low to ensure they got the job and that this new price was what it actually should have cost. With that being said, since everything was loaded on the truck, we really had no choice, so we accepted that new price. My husband took out enough money for the new price and enough to tip the entire crew. The truck with our furniture and us in another car begin our drive up. We had a pretty uneventful drive, up until the last half hour. When we were around a half hour away from our destination, the lead crew member texted me and said that his office forgot to include tolls and gas in our new price of $3,845.75 and that the new price will be $4,337.06. This was just insane because the office was aware of our destination days prior, and certainly could have accounted for this. Some how the original quote of $2,085 now ended up being $4,337.06, which is over a 100% increase. My husband and I were completely unprepared for this insane increase and we scrounged up all the cash we had on hand to meet the extra $500 that they now needed. The crew arrived and we were still counting our money / trying to have enough money to pay them, in order to get our furniture off the truck. We were being held by the balls without any options. We managed to pay them and they promptly started to unload the truck and bring everything into our new space. Things were going well, until my husband and the lead crew member called out extreme damage to our armoire set. The lead crew member then proceeded to tell us that this was our fault, because the material wasn't very strong and we should have broken it down before they packed it and put it in the truck. (Which if you recall from earlier in this review- we were not told we needed to do). This was quite off putting for us, because we understand accidents happen, but there was no accountability on the crews side, which was disappointing. We are putting in a claim for the damaged item and we are hoping it goes well. Take this as a cautionary tale. Based on the outcome of the claim, I will update you all on this mess of a situation...

I was charged 2 times what I was quoted. I went so far as to confirm cost during the day of the move. Company was told the pick up and drop off addresses. A 3 1/2 hour drive at most. Moved 3 small tables a dining room table and 6 chairs, charged for 7 1/2 hours and 3 guys. Took a deposit with a credit card, but was told on day of delivery cash, certified check, or Venmo from a checking account only. "Forgot" one glass top in a different truck, not sure why a truck change was required, 2 weeks later, still no answer where the missing piece is. Wish I had read the terrible reviews found elsewhere online prior to using them. They are good at what they do, and that is deceptively separating people from their money.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY unless you want to be subjected to rudeness, avoidance tactics and being berated by the manager for simply asking the status of your move. The movers showed up 9 hrs late, and in a rental truck that was literally duct taped together from the top of the passenger side of the truck to nearly the bottom. Additionally a piece of the truck was peeling off the back. I could hardly believe my eyes so I took a photo of it. It must have hit an overpass and someone band-aided it together. This was a bad sign but I ignored it since I had to leave where I was on that day and it was already 5p. Then 3 men exited the truck who in my opinion were so exhausted that should not have been working. After my initial conversation with Linda, which included options re insurance coverage, everything fell into a hole and no amount of patience, calm, respect or cajoling was enough to get 3 simple questions answered: what is the cubic ft. of the move, approx. when will it leave the east coast and approx. when will it arrive to the west coast. Every time I called, the avoidance tactics began: she's in a meeting, I just got in and don't have any info, she's not in today, she's in but she just stepped out but will be back later. Then when I would actually get Linda/Yolanda on the phone after a lot of fast talking, Linda would promise to have the info to me on a certain date. I would not hear from her of course so when I finally got hold of her she would beg off again and the cycle would begin again. No one knew anything. No one could help with anything. No one could tell me where my property was. It was a nightmare and the amazing thing was that they were so self-righteous. They had absolutely no shame. They never once apologized for anything. Then my husband called from his cell (that they did not recognize) and demanded to speak with the mgr. Then along comes Gavriel and just when you think you might get some answers, since he's apparently the boss, instead of answering the 3 simple questions I have been asking for weeks, he proceeds to berate me and accuses me of "standing on [his] neck". When he was done with his tirade, I explained that he has my money and my property and he must tell me where my property is and the status of my move. He calmed and made additional promises that he didn't bother to keep either. I repeatedly asked that he remove the extra $200 insurance premium charge since I never requested nor agreed to it. He stated that they have no control over the premium calculation, that it's done automatically according to weight. So I guess if I were moving 550 cf of worthless rocks, and didn't want to insure them, I would be charged anyway. This makes no sense especially given my conversation with Linda. I will report this tactic to the appropriate State authorities. This co insists upon cash payment. DO NOT PAY CASH. Only a credit card co will protect you from these people. As time went on, from when I first saw the duct taped truck, to the exhausted movers, to the obvious and deliberate brush off I continuously got from these people (I even heard G's voice through the phone while I was being told he wasn't in), to the misrepresentations, the contradictory statements and overall rudeness and arrogance, I regretted hiring this co more and more every day. It was obvious that they simply do not care about their customers or the impression they make. To add insult to injury, included in my shipment was a box that looked like it went through a war that did not belong to us, had no inventory tag and everything in it was broken. So not only was it not ours, we had to pay to move it cross-country. From reading other reviews I am thankful that I packed my own belongings. The Better Business Bureau website contains many complaints against this co. I urge you to read them...and many remain unresolved. I read some reviews about car transport. Just know that these people do not transport cars. They call a broker who arranges for transport. I was fortunate that they

These people have continously lied to us. They have held our items hostage and refuse to deliver them. When we call, they hang up on us without saying a word. They tried to scheme us by sending us a 17 foot truck and we were supposed to get a 26 foot truck (per paperwork) and then sent a second truck and raised our bill by nearly 1000 dollars. When they came to our home to pick up our items, they were supposed to come between 11-2pm and showed up nearly at 7pm. They didn't leave until past 10 at night on a school night where my children had to be up way past their bedtime. They also showed up to the house smelling like marijuana. We have had to go to the police for help because of these thieves. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Even with all the negative comments I decided to give this company a try. Thank goodness I didn't choose them to do my move. I couldn't even get an in person quote. I was rescheduled twice and the estimator was beyond rude. Even spoke to a supervisor and she seemed so shocked about the service was very apologetic and offered to come do the estimate herself and give a nice discount. Needless to say I'm still waiting for the estimate. Horrible horrible horrible. Soooo happy I didn't give them my money. If they can't even get it together to do an estimate I can only imagine how the move would've been.

This company will quote you one price to get you to choose them and then add on another $3-$400 after they load you up. I literally had a king sized bed, and about 20 boxes and bags. that's it. The movers took my bed apart and put it back together and that's the only piece of furniture I had. and Tri-State charged me over $900.00 once I got to my new place. I don't blame the movers they are just hired help, but the company is clearly taking advantage of people. I had no dresser, no night stands, no couches, no loveseats, one TV and that's it. I was charged $ 900 because of traffic. I moved from a room i was renting in astoria to a one bedroom apartment in the Bronx. So you can imagine how much stuff I had. Not much at all. Do not use them! And any other company that does this. I just paid rent to move, think about that, that don't even make sense

If you are looking for a mover who will show up on time, do what they say and handle your belongings with expertise and care... RUN AWAY from this business! Consistent with other reviews on the BBB (which I wish I had checked before trusting them) they gave me a quote for my full house move and then demanded 2.5 times that amount IN CASH before delivering my belongings. They never showed up on time , anywhere from 6-24 hours late, and to round out my experience they destroyed a large inventory of my high end furniture. ( I don't mean they broke a few fragile items, I mean they broke marble top dressers, crushed hard wood tables, broke legs off couches and chests , cracked wood dining benches , too much to recount here.). I purchased additional insurance and it's now 20 days later and I have no resolution on my damages, just a bunch of expensive firewood occupying a huge footprint in my house. They don't return calls and seems like they have no intention of facilitating my damage claim.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They are thieves, liars and straight up unprofessional. My parents hired them to move their belongings from New York to their new home in SC. Was given a 3 week delivery date and here we sit 4.5 months later and still no delivery. We have called them numerous times, been given new dates- they never show up and won't answer our calls. When they finally decide to answer they give us a new date, some excuse and the same thing happens again. Now they won't return our calls and won't even answer them. My late grandmother's belongings, along with my parents treasured irreplaceable items are in that truck and we have lost hope that it will ever arrive. The woman that handles the phone calls is a rude, unprofessional, lier that has hung up on me and everyone else in my family. Please protect yourself, your belongings and your family and do not use this company. You will regret it. I honestly think that they are paying people to give them good reviews. If you look through these reviews, my complaint is very similar to many others. The real reviews.

Please I beg of you not to even consider this company. I genuinely don't know how they have anything more than 1 star! I genuinely think they've hired paid people to write better reviews. Horrible communicators and scammers. They are liars and scamming people. They've lied every single time we've called. We waited on our stuff over two months after we were promised it would arrive. They lied every time and said it was going to be arriving in one day's time and each day it wouldn't arrive. Apparently it hadn't even left NY for the first 3 week of them telling us it was "en route". I truly wish I could convince each and every one of you not to book This company and pay them to steal your belongings.

DO NOT use this company under any circumstance. they don't stand behind their delivery guarantee. they charge you way more than the estimated price only letting you know hours before they deliver your stuff. You have to call and threaten them to even delivery. They always claim the supervisor is in a meeting or will be in at a later time. They never return your calls. tgey owner is rude, nasty and arrogant. after many threats of legal action they final found some random guy to deliver my stuff, mind you he did it alone after it took 3 guys to load my things. They were also trying to pass someone else's mattress and gaming chair off as mine, adding to the extra stuff I was charged for. they need to be out of business. I have so many damaged boxes its sad
