Last night I decided to go out in the bitter cold to The Millbrook Inn. When I got there after a17 minute dark country road drive, I arrived hungry and eager to have a good dinner but to find to my astonishment the bldg empty save the chef who was relaxing near the bar. He was courteous and told me the restaurant was closed because of a kitchen deep-clean. What??!! When I registered my surprise and disappointment saying there was nothing on the website about closure , he called someone named Susan, the GM. She made no apologies, never even offered me a cup of coffee and stared when I asked why the usual Thursday opening was not specified as closed on the website. She said come back tomorrow. Hello! Where this person honed her hospitality skills is a mystery. She should have offered some incentive like..,"so so sorry and please do come back tomorrow night for a drink on the house", or something similar to soften my blow. Today, locals and friends have told me the place is always empty, the owner does not have a clue about how to run a successful Inn, service is bad and very very slow and there have been many chefs in the last few years. As an aside, the ambiance is what I would call "Dated Early American". If you have friends 90 plus who remember that kind of 1776 kitsch surroundings, they might like it. Personally, "antiquated homey" is not my thing. But this review is only about how I was treated by so-called food/beverage, hospitality professionals. I don't think I will afford them another opportunity to "blow it". and cast me off so uncavalierly.

My only negative comment to our very positive experience at the Millbrook Inn was breakfast. We were given no options. The 1st morning was scrambled eggs; the 2nd morning was pancakes ( no fruit, no topping.) It would be nice to have a few selections from which to choose.

Just back from four nights at the wonderful Millbrook Inn. It is the epitome of a luxury country inn. Our room, the Beatrice, was beautiful, spacious, light filled, quiet and comfortable. The common areas are lovely with ample seating, a cozy fireplace, and a great collection of books. Breakfast is served in the conservatory each morning and consisted of fresh fruit, homemade scones and biscuits, plus a main course option of eggs and bacon, pancakes, or local yogurt with granola and dried fruits. The inn's Vintage restaurant was beautiful with a tavern room and full bar, as well as dining in the enchanted conservatory (my favorite!). We had two dinners there and both were excellent. On burger and beer night, I had the best turkey burger ever--perfectly seasoned and moist. The cleanliness of the inn is impeccable, as is the service. Susan, the general manager is welcoming and has great recommendations for area attractions and food. We love staying at B&Bs and have had many wonderful experiences, but the Millbrook Inn exceeded all of our expectations. My husband enjoyed early morning walks on the grounds and surrounding area and there are many historic attractions within a 30-40 minute drive. Great experience in every way.

Charming Inn, entirely refurbished, tastefully decorated, peaceful, very comfortable beds & linens, delicious breakfasts, most amiable staff… and a good restaurant to boot!

We have stayed at the Millbrook Inn many times Pre Covid and were very much looking forward to our return this July for a three night stay. Sadly ownership/management has changed and it was the worst hospitality we have experienced anywhere. Our hostess, Susan, showed us to our clean and cool room. Unfortunately we soon discovered that the toilet was not functioning. Susan's response was to ask if we would like a plunger! Declining the plunger she asked if we tried removing the tank and trying to fix ourselves. Eventually we were asked if we wanted her to come and fix it. Yes. She fiddled with it and declared it repaired. Not so. It continued to run non stop and would not flush all that night. We were actually without use of our bathroom for a very expensive night at the Millbrook Inn. She blamed it on Housekeeping which made no sense at all. The next morning we did enjoy a lovely breakfast and were told a plumber would be called. That evening we returned to a useful bathroom. But we had a small picnic supper that we sat down on the patio to enjoy and were quickly chased off of the outdoor space and told we could not eat food that wasn't sold by them where indoor diners could see us. We were sent off across the lawn to a seating area between the septic tank and the septic field. We were never offered the complimentary glasses of wine that were part of our room cost. Nor were we offered any compensation for our first night's stay that was unacceptable in every way.

Stopped by for brunch on a late Sunday morning. Setting is very pretty, and both the inside and outside dining areas are quite nice and well maintained. Food was good, but very expensive. For example...$9 gets you only two (2) very thin slices of bacon. Three medium size pancakes will cost you $18. At least they don't outwardly add a 4% surcharge if you pay with a credit card, like other restaurants in Millbrook do.

My wife and I just ate dinner for the first time there as we live locally. We were delighted from the moment we stepped foot inside. The decor is amazing and made you feel like you were in an upscale modern country atmosphere. The food was amazing and so were the drinks. Their attention to detail is astounding and I encourage anyone and everyone to try their restaurant. Absolutely amazingFood & drinks: Top notch

My wife and I had an incredible time here. The team went above and beyond to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The food was great. The best best part was the bartender, Kaitlin. She made memorable drinks for us and our guest. The inn is a hidden gem. It’s a quiet relaxing place for you to sit reconnect.

Had a lovely stay here. Don was a wonderful host and the inn itself was so nice. Breakfast was really good! It seems like the rooms were recently renovated as well, so it looked even nicer than photos and absolutely gorgeous in person. Thank you Don!

Fabulous, beautiful and comfortable common areas. Our bedroom was spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Incredibly large and spotless bathroom. Don, the proprietor was friendly, helpful and clearly loves his work. Both days’ breakfasts were perfect, including perfectly creamy scrambled eggs and outstanding locally produced bacon. In sum, I hated to leave.

Food was something left to be desired, poorly seasoned and menu limited…probably won’t be there for the food again but the surroundings were lovely.
