I call ahead of time and the person who answered told me to come in for a gel manicure and a regular pedicure. I get there on time. I get seated with Kenny. Where do I start. He rushed my nail. He decided to paint on my nails with the nail dust all over my hands. It was very sloppy. And as I told him along the way that it’s very messy he stopped, filed the nail polish off and left me there. The owner tells me that if I didn’t like the nails that I won’t like it with anyone else because he is “the best” in that place with manicures. Judging by the reviews he might be the worst, being that his name is mentioned several times and not in a good way. So now I’m waiting for the owner to try and make the experience better instead she tells me she has no one available to do my pedicure, even though when I called earlier that day she had me penciled in for a mani and pedi, and that I have to wait. As I sat there I realized that because I criticized Kenny’s work that subliminally she is denying me service by telling me there is “no one available “. I mean the price for a gel manicure there is pricey so naturally I want the best looking nails. So this business not only wasted my time, I wasted gas driving to her and I left there with half done nails! I left there so livid I wanted to cuss everyone out. But instead I prayed about it and I found star nail in cortland. Very friendly and inviting. And I left there at peace and happy with results.

I have been to linas a numerous times and while the work is pretty good, it is not at all worth the horrible service that I have been given on many occasions. I have had honey and lina do my nails multiple times each and both were very rude and got unusually upset when I asked for something to be fixed (a crooked nail, splochy polishing, etc.) I do not think my requests were unreasonable considering they are my nails and I am the one that has to look at them, but I was instantly met with attitude and they would instantly start speaking in chinese as if it is not clear that they are talking about me. (I promise thats not a race thing, I myself am part asian, I just thought that was extremely rude). My latest interaction with lina was by far the worst and I will not be returning because of it. I had an appointment for 8:00 am, so I arrived at 7:57 to be safe only to find that the shop was closed and the lights were off and the hours stated on the door that they open at 9:00 am, so I assumed there was a mistake with the booking. I waited until 8:00 to be sure that there was no one there and then left and called their number, to which there was no answer. I called a few minutes later just to be sure, and lina answered. I explained the situation and she instantly blamed me and told me I should have waited because she was only a few minutes late. (which i had no way of knowing because i was not contacted at all) I tried to explain to her that I could not wait and that if my appointment is at 8:00, I expect to be starting at 8 and not waiting for her to get there. She was extremely condescending, unprofessional and unaccommodating about the situation and eventually hung up on me because I was requesting that I come in just 15 mins after my appointment time, which once again I do not think is an unreasonable request considering she was the one that was late.Service: Acrylic nails

Used this place once before and wasn’t crazy about it but a family member recommended so decide to give it another try. Worse decision ever .. I got a gel manicure and 2 days later the polish is already lifting from my nail.. waste of money .. save your money and time go somewhere else .. also this is besides the fact I got charge $15 for rescheduling an appointment … rip offService: Gel manicures

I had an appointment with Savina for 12:30. I got there at 12:20 because I thought if I was there early then she would take me early. I waited till 1:10 and finally had enough of the wait since Savina was taking a long time on this client before me. I decided to go with whoever was available and it was Kenny. Worst choice I made, I should have left. Kenny cared more about his phone than my actual nails. He did my nails horrible! How can you let a person leave the salon with nails like those! He didn't even do my cuticles nor actually clean my real nails. I wish I could give zero stars.

Booked an appointment for Saturday but did not put in my credit card info because I had a gift certificate. Received a four digit number that I thought was a confirmation. When I got to Lina’s I was refused service even as a walk in. I will never go there again. I was treated poorly and the owner was not very nice.Service: Gel manicures

I have been going to Lina’s forever even when she was located across the street. The service they give there is amazing and I’m always walking out happy and pleased. Unfortunately life happens and things unexpected happen. So to all the people reviewing these last couple weeks just remember everyone’s human and mistakes can happen. Everyone has a bad week. Lina should be ashamed. The level of unprofessionalism in that establishment is shameful. To deny customers with appointments, yet have multiple employees standing on their phones is pathetic. What happened to customer service? Paying customers deserve better. No one should have to walk away with clear polish AND PAY FOR IT, when their appointment was denied and they couldn’t get what they wanted. If Lina can make time to do everyone’s designs, time can be made for customers with appointments. Not to mention, a male client was turned away while many nail techs sat around waiting for others. This salon has gotten away with far too much over the years and i think it’s time to bring our valuable business elsewhere. Many places in the area treat, and care about clients far more. Other salons are cleaner, and put attention on the clients at hand. Sorry Lina, this one won’t slide.

I thought we were living in a time where we weren’t judged based on assumptions. I witnessed a teenage boy be denied services despite having an appointment. Both the nail tech and owner denied a design because “there wasn’t enough time”. Mind you this individual had a appointment. After the owner went and did a design on another person I heard when she told the teen “oh I have time now”. What ever happened to providing a service to a paying customer and keeping personal prejudices to yourself? Such a shame this is still happening in 2013. I’m giving one star since I can’t give zero. I’ll never step foot at this establishment again and the last time I’ll address this. Just wanted it known to others.

I don’t recommend going to Kenny. He did a terrible job with my gel manicure. The gel is very thick in some spots and my nails are not filed even remotely evenly. He didn’t cut my cuticles and seemed to be pretty sloppy with with his work. I will give it another chance but definitely with a different nail tech.

I was a walk-in. There were 6 techs, only 1 (Lina)had a customer. I think they throw the new clients to worse tech. The male tech did my nails…as soon as I sat down told him what I wanted, (short almond shaped c curve) asked if they pinched nails to create C-curve. He said yes. First red flag—no cuticle care and he put tips that were too small for my nail bed. Then he starts to apply acrylic and isn’t putting pinchers like I asked. After the second nail, I asked again about the pinching the nails. He’s clearly not understanding what I’m asking, seems annoyed. So I turned to tech next to him to translate. She’s talking to him and to the salon owner. She then tells me they don’t do that there. This is so unprofessional, if your employee cannot understand or communicate with customers why wouldn’t you facilitate and translate initially to make it very clear for both parties what is expected?!?!!!!!! So after accepting the fact that I won’t be walking out with what I wanted…the work wasn’t even good. 5 nails were crooked which I pointed out, he filed and filed and filed to try and fix but no they still look off. He also cut my pinky finger with the aggressive filing after I asked to correct nails.This is sad and disappointing. I’m sure this man has been a tech for a few years and his lack of interest in the profession shows in his work.Where are the people that take pride in their work? I made an appointment with Savina for SNS dip powder on my nails. She was very sweet, took her time, and gave me her suggestion on which chrome top coat best matched the powder that I chose.

I wish I can put 0 stars but I can't, this by far the worstplace. I payed for a set of $85 for my birthday nailsthinking that it was going to last me for more then 3days and these are my nails 3 days after, I texted theowner of the store I get no response at all. Great atmosphere excepts walk in. However, I bought my daughter with me as I wanted to get our mani-pedi done together, she's 4. They ended up doing hers 1st then mine. Which left her impatiently waiting for me to finish. Overall wonderful service Lucy was amazing.
