They staff are friendly and knowledgeable, they also have safe deposit boxes.

We have been doing business with this branch for over thirty years and they have always exceeded our expectations for service. Several days ago we purchased some furniture and attempted to use our debit card to pay for it. The cashier said it would only authorize $1000, so I removed my card and wrote a check for the total. The next day I saw the $1000 charge had been posted to my account. I called the furniture store and they insisted that the transaction had been voided, and suggested I call my bank. Melissa took my call and, after hearing what had happened, she took over. She sent a fax to the furniture store with proof of the transaction along with a letter explaining the situation. She then called and spoke with their representative to follow up; and when they still insisted the transaction had not happened she called me. Melissa filled out paperwork to dispute the charge and asked me to stop in and sign it.The next day, the money was back in my account! She really went the extra mile to resolve the situation and relieve my stress. This is just one example of why we will continue to do both our personal and business banking with this branch of Chemung Canal for many years to come.

Customer service- terrible Logic behind their banking- terrible. Arrogant crooks, if you love giving your money away- sign up! Melissa at the Montour Falls branch is the only person I have spoken with that was willing to help me and admit fault.

Very friendly staff. I was a longstanding account holder at CCTC, at a different branch, and only closed that account because I moved out of state. Big mistake! I have not found a local/community institution in my new city halfway as awesome as Chemung Canal and refuse as a matter of principle to do business with the National Banks. Found myself in Montour Falls, visiting friends, a few days after my new hometown's institution had let me down (again), so I walked in, introduced myself, and moved all of my business back to CCTC. After just a few minutes of speaking with them I remembered how much I liked them and realized what a mistake it was to leave. :) I live on the other side of the country, but they mean it when they say "Global" Checking and thus far I've suffered no disadvantages to having my institution located so far away. Do business with these guys, they won't steer you wrong!
