Insanely overpriced, but good work. Cheap work is not good and good work is not cheap but this was ridiculous. I got 2 front control arms and front brakes. Cost me $1500. I paid with cash which normally warrants the sales tax is waived for the past 30 years I have been owning cars and having them repaired here in Mt Vernon with impeccable work. Not H&S.
Since my mechanic (Magienello) closed it's doors over 10 years ago, I've been unable to find any service center as good here in Mt Vernon. H&S, thanks but won't be back again.

Before coming to this shop, I went to 2 mechanics, and they weren't able to help me because of the type of transmission i had. They kept referring me to someone else. I started my search, and I came across H & S Auto Transmission. I brought my car into the shop because I was experiencing issues. It was lagging, whenever I pressed the gas pedal, the car would delay before moving forward and among other issues my car had.Now, as young woman, I don’t know much about cars, so image being refer twice and no help.I was so happy that I found someone who knew about transmissions and the different kinds.The owner explained my transmission type and why it was experiencing such issues. He gave me a better understand of what my car issues were. The owner definitely did his due diligence, in ensuring everything was running perfectly before returning the car. When I arrived to pick up my car, he provided photos and a detail log explaining everything what he found while working on my car.Their pricings are so affordable. I ended up getting a new transmission at an amazing price along with 1 year warranty.Unfortunately, I can only give a 5 star but if I could, I would have given more because I am truly satisfied with their business and how they handled everything. They are so professional, fast and honestly cares about their customers.

He recommended I buy a new transmission from the dealer for a car that has over 180,000 miles. He said my toyota has a CVT transmission which was also false, confirmed by another mechanic and 2014 non- hybrid camrys don't even have come with CVT's only automatic.He also said I should replace the air intake sensor which it doesn't have any either. If you don't want to service a particular person for whatever reason, just say "I apologize, I cannot perform this job" instead of making ridiculous suggestions as well as give false information. He even slammed my hood because I questioned him when he was saying complete nonsense so I made him aware of my knowledge, since he thought I was some illiterate that cannot tell between a CVT and automatic transmission. I'll see if I can find the dashcam footage of the interaction and post

After I canceled the payment of $4,300 to H&S Auto Shop from my credit card company, I eventually filed a complaint to the DMV, and they found him 5 violations!
Since I had solid evidence of his scam, the credit card company got every cent of my money back! So when the DMV officer called me, I told the officer that I got all the money back from the help of credit card company, so I would like to withdraw my complaint; but the officer said he had found H&S Auto Shop many violations and the owner of H&S Auto Shop already got fines.
Few months ago he changed the brakes for me, he told me the cost was $375, when I paid I saw the price was raised to $394. I didn’t say anything, I though he raised $19, never mind, I paid without questioning him. Then he repaired the transmission for my the other car, he said his fee was $3,500, but when I picked up the car this morning, he suddenly raised the price up to $4,300! And he talked in a very mean tone, saying that he did this and that extra, but he never asked me if I could afford the extra charge of $800!
Also, after I picked up my car, the gas was low. I found that he drove my car for 54 miles. If this was a test drive, this test was unacceptable. Also, there was an EZ pass charge by him! I actually took pictures of the mileage when I dropped off my car to his shop. He just tried everything he could to take advantage of me!
The first time when I visited his shop, he was a lot of nicer, now he suddenly add an extra $800 without asking me if I agreed or not, or if I could afford it. If he wanted to replace any parts, and cost me more money, he was supposed to call me and let me know. I’m surprise that he changed his attitude from nice to rude and mean!
On the second visit to his shop for repairing the brake, he told me he was 55, and asked me about my age. I just told him that I was older than him. Then when I dropped off the other car for repairing the transmission, because my daughter was with me, he asked me if I had a husband. I made a mistake by answering him “no, just two of us.” Then when I picked up the car, he asked me again how old I was. It was very inappropriate and unprofessional to check out customer’s age, background and their marital status. I know in some cultures, women without a husband for protection, some people would brother them and try to take advantage of those women. Maybe that’s why he try everything he can to check out my age and martial status to see how much he can take advantage of me.
After few days of driving the car, I found: 1) The engine is very loud and vibrates when I accelerate. 2) I can smell engine fumes in the cabin when driving. 3)The cover for the base of my shifter is missing.
I drove my car to his shop and tried to explain to him hoping he could find the problem and fix the problems. He was extremely rude and mean and refused to even take a look!
I had no choice but canceled the payment of $4,300 and file a complaint to the DMV.

Awesome mechanic the owner told me I did not need a transmission after Toyota told me mine was slipping he drove it with me and told me I was perfectly fine and I asked him to change the transmission fluid and he said it was perfectly good I didn't even need that and he showed it to me and showed me the dirty one so I would know the difference I will be definitely making him my usual mechanic for now on very hard to find a honest mechanic

Absolutely love coming to this shop, I have brought 2 of my cars here for mechanical work and each time I leave satisfied. The work is done quickly, efficiently and also for a great price. Being that there are only 2 men in the shop Hafeez & Chris will try work with your budget and they actually care about getting your vehicle fixed and back on the road.Definitely recommend getting your car repaired at this family-friendly business they deserve the highest star ratings.

I took my car there as l assumed that there was something wrong with my transmission, they ran a diagnostic test and told that my transmission was fine, took the car for a test drive and was able pinpoint that my wheel bearing was bad. Very honest and will not hesitate to take my car there if l ever needed any future repair done. BTW l did ended up replacing both bearing. My car now feels so much better, whining sound is now gone. Pricing was very reasonable.

I searched on google and realized this shop got great reviews so I decided to take my car there for service, chris is a great mechanic and very patient. I am very pleased and their prices are reasonable.. 10/10 recommend
