The website says walk-ins welcome, but the night I went it was by appointment only..so I made an appointment for 2 weeks later only to show up and be told that the students are doing a test that night. I never received a phone call to cancel my appointment. Two wasted trips and my time unfortunately.

I called on a Friday to see if I could book a hair appointment for Saturday. They told me they just take walk-ins on Saturday. So I went there early and when I got there they told me there were no hair students there on Saturdays. They might show up they might not. I was a little frustrated because I drove all the way there, I wish they told me that over the phone. But they booked me for a few days later and I got my hair cut. The instructor did most of my cut while the student watched and learned. They made sure I left with the cut I wanted which I appreciate. The prices are great. The staff are friendly and it's a really nice work space.

Very busy but after my facial (first) l understand why. This school is celebrating ? 60 years in business and it speaks for itself. Kind, friendly and professional for a fraction of the cost of it's competitors. Will be engulfing my aging skin and coupling that with new experiences (massage) next. My face was rejuvenated and looked amazing.

They said they have a 48 hour policy and it wasn’t sunny for three days after getting my hair done here. When I checked my hair in the sun when the sun came out three days later it was orange. The lady doing my hair made my hair orange when I asked for blonde.

Huge Disappointment if you're an adult. They treat you like a 10 year old. Sending students home if there a minute late. Sending students home if they come back a minute late from a break. Horrible way to treat adults that are "PAYING" them to attend. This is supposed to be a fun and exciting experience. The staff totally ruins it. My girlfriend was once a student. She started the night school classes as happy as one can be to learn a new trade. Within a few months I noticed she was no longer smiling...no longer coming home happy. She finally stressed to me that the teachers have her on edge. She often races through traffic, fearing to be sent home if she arrives late. What kind of place is this. They need to check themselves. This is night school which means most of the students have a job or possibly a child. They will lose students faster then they can obtain them with these rules. The school director needs to fix this ASAP. Stay away

I was extremely overdue for a haircut, and after having done some research, I stumbled upon this hidden gem in Rockland County. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by the sweetest front desk Receptionist Chyna. Another Client had canceled and she was able to get me an appointment right away. I was introduced to my stylist Madison, being shadowed by Ms. Lisa. I absolutely LOVED them both. I most appreciate her taking the time to both listen to my wishes and offer suggestions. Madison was able give me a fresh/clean haircut while keeping most of my length. She was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The price for the services is unbeatable and I will most definitely be back. I highly recommend Capri Cosmetology, thank you for all you guys do!

Capri is a school I will recommend to no one. It was very disorganized and was ran by higher ups that did not listen to the students and other actions were needed to be taken to make a difference. The way the curriculum is taught is rushed. We are rushed through theory and then thrown into hands on for each part for about a week and then get told to move on to the other part of the curriculum. Now, as a senior we have been bored for the last 4 weeks since we haven’t been doing thing. The new teachers have a good mindset but they need to teach then take a step back and let us try It out without hovering over us. I do not like how we have the smallest working space in the school and our class number size is so large that you can’t even get a true learning experience with the class size we had. The constant rotations of teachers also helps no one at all. Walking in each week with a new teacher each day instead of keeping It consistent helps absolutely no one. We are in a school of adults, we are not children. Being talked down to by the director and other higher ups with these rules that only half are stated in the contract we signed is unacceptable. I pay for my learning experience so I will get what I pay for. I did not get that at capri until I demanded It and took other actions myself to make It happen. For the future, capri needs an entire revamp of this program in order for its students to actually learn and be successfully for not only the state board (which we are not) but for our career in this field. The only good thing about this school was the friends I made and Chyna the receptionist who kept this school running to the best of her ability with everything she was thrown. Ms.Gianna, Ms.Shawna and Mr.Christian were amazing teachers but are sometimes pushed to do things they know are not best for us as students because that’s what they are told to do. I learned so much from them but unfortunately one teacher decided to leave because of the hostile environment that capri has made. In the end, capri not only effects the students but the teachers as well and It needs to be fixed if they still want to be considered a credible school.

Education-wise I felt that I learned a great deal of information to help me later on in my career. I went through a very hard time while I was attending as I'm sure a lot of other students and teachers did. Instead of making it easier for everyone, the environment was very hostile and falsely open for feedback. Anything that was said as a suggestion or anything that was pointed out was debated about rather than finding a solution. Another student made it aware that there were few spots to eat on our breaks, and a teacher responded that it was our responsibility as students to make sure we had a place to eat so we should go out and buy chairs for ourselves. The correct solution which did eventually happen was just timing breaks for different classes like how it should've been. I was diagnosed autistic in the process of going here and my difficulties were noticed but scolded instead. "I don't think you are." Is what was said to me when I explained I was in the process of getting this diagnosis. I have had to hide who I really am here, and people were freely allowed to comment on anything about me without any correction from teachers even within earshot. I was asked why I walk the way I do, why am I so rude, how I should be reacting to things. You would think if a student let you know these things a teacher would do their best to understand, but instead I was afraid to advocate for myself because of my struggles already making it difficult enough for me and the lack of support. I was forced into burnout because of the way things are handled here, and how insensitive the environment is. Everyone commenting on how antisocial I used to be in the beginning is what really made me frustrated, it was right in front of them and they force you to be someone you're not.

I’ve been coming here, forever. The students are amazing as are the instructors. I think my hair is a huge challenge so I tell the student if you could do this mop, you can do anyone’s hair. Here’s the before & after pics of my keratin treatment.

Great Experience. Went with someone who has gone many times. Only Seniors allowed to work on a client. Will definitely go back. Much cheaper as well.

this is a wonderful environment to learn the trade of Cosmotology, hairdresser/ hairstylist or Esthetics, MUD makeup, Skincare, massage therapy, wax technician. the teachers are both professional, very helpful &amazing. I loved them! Especially Miss Ariel, Mr. Joe, Miss Nicole & Miss Lellie, & so many more. I was a cosmetologist from Richard I Beauty school in Kingston NY. and really had an amazing learning experience while learning Esthetics, at the Nanuet location. I highly recommend.
