The gentleman there was absolutely amazing. He is usually there by himself and he hands the rush inside his store very well (I came prior day of pick up to ask questions) Day of pick up I was in and out of the store within five minutes. He is someone you want to keep inside any of your hertz building, so make sure you are giving him the support he needs to do well.

Not happy. Reserved gas powered economy car. Showed up to pick up car & they said it wasn't available. They told me I could have an electric vehicle. I did not reserve that type of vehicle. They informed me they had only one gas powered vehicle left that was available for an additional $10 daily fee (cost me an extra $70) which was totally unexpected. There was another gentleman there also having the same issue but he chose the electric vehicle. He ended up paying at least an extra $30 fee in case he returned the vehicle without a full charge. He too was hesitant because of the extra fees. I always booked rental vehicles from ENTERPRISE (Bardonia) & never experienced this problem. Good luck if you rent from HERTZ Nanuet! Bring extra money!!

I hope this message reaches the right people. My recent experience at this location was extremely disappointing. The staff were unprofessional and disrespectful. We were made to wait an unreasonable amount of time right before a holiday while employees were socializing outside instead of helping customers. Their behavior felt discriminatory and unacceptable. Management should look into this immediately — no customer deserves to be treated this way.

I picked up the car with a full tank of gas and returned it with a full tank of gas.
I was charged $30 for gas at a rate of $9.99/gallon.
I brought this to the attention of the clerk, who told me a supervisor would have to get involved. There was no supervisor available at that time to talk to me. I waited as long as I could and left the office.
I was also told I'd receive an receipt via email. The receipt was never received.
I registered a complaint with Hertz' corporate, and was informed I'd would be reimbursed within 3-5 business days.

The every time I have rented from the Nanuet location (I’ve been renting from this location for the past 2 years) I get dirty cars all the time. I rented it for the week, but it was so dirty. The one that I swapped out for the first one they gave me was dirty and they told me “oh well we don’t wash cars here”. None of the stores wash cars and I had to tell the agent on Friday “hey man I’m almost 50. I’ve been renting cars since I was 18. I have never been to a station”. I have seen the standard of customer service totally decline at this location.
Came in to drop off a car at Hertz this morning over in Nanuet and didn’t really need anything extra because normally if we drop the keys off, they’ll usually just close the contract out. I came and dropped my keys and just told the guy I didn’t need anything else. He then said well your contract is not gonna be closed out until you let me close out. You’re gonna have to wait. I then out of sheer frustration, “I hate this location because it’s gone down in customer service. The agent’s reply was “well go somewhere else!” Out of shock and awe I asked the agent (who had no badge on) what his name was and his reply was, “My name is none of your business!” This guy amongst the others have let this station decline. At one point I always viewed Hertz as the Gold standard when it came to care rentals. I must say that I absolutely hate this location and probably won’t ever rent from this location again.
My wife then came into the store and she would normally do and saw the agent finally called for the next customer. When I approached this same agent said to Mimie, would you like to return your car? I then asked him to please process my return and let me leave the store in peace after I said to him, man you’re trying to be funny. And yet his reply to me was, “Yes I am”. My wife then turned and looked at him and said man that is very unprofessional. His reply to her as he got into a tongue wrestle with her was, “Were you in the store when he came in! This isn’t concerning you!” At that point it took everything in me not to punch the agent in the face.
This is a very poor representation of Hertz as a company. The agents at this store do not care about your valued customers considering that Avis/Budget are across the street.

They don't answer their phone. Ringing for 30 mins and calling multiple times. Just unbelievable.

Experience was pretty lousy on the pick up.
Not sure why they clean the cars when people come to get them, would make a lot more sense to clean them when they are dropped off.
Took a long time to get my car and the staff were the opposite of friendly.
Drop off was pretty simple but again the person working the desk was just very unfriendly.
Do better guys.

I came to NY to visit friends and family and rented a car for a week. I never rented a car in NY before and was nervous. The lady that helped us was really nice and so was the car.

Excellent Customer Service at Nanuet location, very little wait time , only issue was car was not washed before i received it and Rep was alone they would benefit from more Worker on hand especially before a major Holiday that’s the only reason for 4 stars

I rented from a bunch of Hertz locations. I've never had such a smooth experience with pick up and drop off process.
The lady by pick up with super nice, and was not trying to upsell me and she is a role model for how all should strive to act. However, I felt bad for the person next to me, as that staff member was extremely rude to that person. And by drop off, it went extreamly smoothly, a fast and professional experience. I would 100% rent from here again!

The staff at the centre in Nanuet was not Helpfull and do not pick up their phones and it’s very difficult to get a response.

I had a reservation booked at this location came to pick up the car and they wouldn’t let I’m not the first one this is happening to look at the reviews I would suggest they change their management because they have terrible customer service and will deny you the car if they don’t like your appearance

Made a reservation a few days in advance, arrived to pick up the car and was told only an EV vehicle is available even though I reserved something else. Manager there is terrible and rude, not possible to communicate with

This location is absolutely horrible and poorly managed. They do not follow or honor anything Hertz Reservations and Customer Care says. They are unhelpful, they did not deliver my vehicle as I was told, they do not ever answer phones, the car they gave me was not the car reserved by my insurance, they only had a choice of two cars that were not close to what was reserved for me. The car they gave me smelled like must and mildew, the gas tank was half full, the car was filthy dirty and needed to be washed, so never get a car from this location. Don’t ever get a car from Hertz period. Worst decision ever, and I will never rent from Hertz again. This location should be closed.
