On our 1st trip to this store we purchased for over $800. We went back because we needed an extra 2 gallons of paint because one of our 5 gallons wasn't enough, we were charged $83 a gallon for the regal select when everywhere else charges $59. That is a betrayal. When you are a returning customer, you tend to trust the place you are doing business with but you get ripped off. Aura, which is the top quality goes for $98 but a white regal select for $83? After inquiring at several other benjamin moore stores, regal select is constantly under $60. Greed make you lose business.

Josh was a huge help when educating me on buying some new yard tools. He knew exactly what he was talking about and very willing to help and answer questions. While it was my first time there, I felt very much at home and will return when I can, instead of dragging myself to the Home Depot mega store.

Thank goodness for smaller hardware stores. They have exactly what you need at great prices for most items and have a reliable staff with a lot of knowledge. I will be sure to visit this store in the future for my hardware needs.

Horrible customer orientation. I have been shopping at this location for 12 years. Every wall painted in my home came from the former store that managed it. I decided to do some touch up painting but needed to determine if the paint was good and needed to be shaken. I arrived 10 minutes prior to close and was greeted rudely. Rather than “how can I help you?”, I was confronted with “can you come back tomorrow because we are closing”. I respect that and would have been happy to simply do whatever could have been done in 10 minutes, but this rude staffer did anything but listen. Explaining that “they opened at 7 and I had all day to take care of this and they have commitments too”. Like I don’t have commitments and entered their store prior to closing. I stated this was unprofessional and started to walk out when he told me “I could call Wallauer if I was unhappy”. I was resigned to just drive off but decided this conduct could not go unchecked. So I walked back in and asked for his name and the number he offered. He spent time fumbling for the number and told me that “when I call be sure to tell them I was courteous and offered to come back tomorrow”. No, he was everything but courteous. And his belief that he can prescribe my words is another indication of just how poor he is equipped to be of service. In the time he spent refusing to serve me, he could have addressed my issues. And I am not making that up. I ended up driving 20 minutes and tolls to Norton in Paramus. I arrived at 5:20. I was warmly greeted by Lodi. He took 1 minute to manually determine if my paint was good. He shook the good cans and mixed additional paint of the ones I did not have enough to cover. This took 9 minutes! Do the math - i left Nanuet at 5. It took 20 minutes to Paramus. And I was checked out at 5:29. But guess what? I will gladly make that trip from here on in. And I recommend others do the same. This is not the first complaint about their rudeness and I’m certain it will not be the last. Hold your poor customer service accountable or they will feel empowered. And you will lose business. He reflects you. *** Response to management *** The situation was antagonistic because of the way your employee approached me. The taped conversation will show no such offer because that’s not what I needed. As I stated, I was fine with leaving, but your employee continued with his provocation and escalated the matter. The 10 minutes he took to lecture me could have been spent shaking the can - I never required a color match or 7 new cans of paint. Just one can to paint one wall that evening. But he never asked. Again, my business will be taken elsewhere. Buyers beware.
