Absolute gem! This place takes you back in time. Its perfectly restored, comfortable, quiet and frankly not like any other experience Ive ever had. Wayne is a master craftsman and top notch host. The town of naples is cute and has a lot of things to do in walking distance.

I can't say enough wonderful things about The Maxfield and Wayne as our host! My husband and I stayed here for a wedding and the inn was such highlight of the trip. Wayne was incredibly helpful, responsive, and passionate about the inn and the history of the home. He took the time to walk us through the rooms and explain the history of it all, which was so special. Such an incredible preservation of history in a wonderful, walkable neighborhood. We will absolutely be back for another stay!

My girlfriend and I had a great stay at the Maxfield Inn. Wayne was very friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival, he greeted us and gave us a tour and history of the inn. We asked him about Uber in Naples, and he let us know it’s not really active in the area. He provided us contact information for a local resident whom you can arrange rides with (she was also very friendly and helpful!) The Inn was clean and quiet. We would definitely recommend it and will be staying here again.

My wife and I stayed at Maxfield Inn twice in May 2025. The inn is a really nice and comfortable restored mansion. Wayne is an excellent host and extremely knowledgeable on the history of the house and surrounding area. A stay at Maxfield Inn is highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at the Maxfield Inn for a weekend and greatly enjoyed our stay. We’re super thankful to have run into the owner as much as we did. An incredibly kind and knowledgeable person who certainly brightened our visit. We loved learning about the history of the now Maxfield Inn. The charm of the building was preserved through years of careful restoration. The location was also excellent for walking to Inspire Moore, Naples Brewing Co., Caruso’s Cafe, and the other great business in town. Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing house full of history in a wonderful little town!!! We came to Naples for an anniversary weekend getaway and we had an absolutely lovely time. Wayne, the owner, is very passionate about the work he has done on the house, and provides a very thorough and informative tour, along with stories about the various residents of the house from over the last 200 years. He provided a delicious breakfast to us both Saturday/Sunday and shared the recipes from his cookbooks. I could not recommend The Maxfield more highly. We will definitely be back soon!

Stayed just one night, but a lovely stay it was! If you have an appreciation for historic homes, I'd highly recommend this mansion. The hosts made great effort to be unobtrusive, but if you engage them, they will happily tell you anything you want to know about this house's interesting history. Wayne and Christine are a very friendly and interesting couple! The home, in general, is furnished and decorated in period fashion. I rather appreciated how they downsized the modern kitchen to maximize the preservation of history in that area of the home. Accommodations were comfortable and nicely appointed. The semi-private 2-bedroom suite that we were in had a beautifully updated bath, comfortable beds and nice quality bedding and towels. Plenty of outlets for electronics/tech. One of the bedrooms has a beautiful old dressing table with mirror right by a window that was used and appreciated! Spent a little time in the evening relaxing in comfortable rockers on the front porch, enjoying the village view.If you just need a quick bite before heading out, their continental breakfast is perfect. Although you can make arrangements to have a full breakfast prepared for you (for an additional charge, requested prior to your stay), we chose to graze on the continental breakfast, which included muffins and fruit and a variety of other choices. We nibbled in a unique rounded sunporch partially overlooking the serene, landscaped, private yard.Right across the street is an entertaining gift shop and gallery called Artizanns, featuring local artists. There are other shops and boutiques to explore right in town. The home is less than a mile walk up the road from Inspire Moore Winery and Roots Cafe, both recommended! Excellent wine-tasting and dining experiences! The cafe is so charming with both indoor and outdoor seating options...and so many different antique tables and chairs! Your hosts will provide recommendations for dining and exploring Naples.Wayne is passionate about his restoration of this beautiful home, and both hosts are willing to provide a fascinating guided tour, upon request, which I recommend, if you can spare just a couple hours! Ask about the home's liquor history and don't exclude the basement from your tour!WS & LC

Wayne was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the house’s history. The rooms were nice but everything had a thick layer of dust on it and cobwebs on the ceilings. We paid extra for a third guest and each room had one bottle of water. The Inn is advertised as a B&B and it was only after examining the website it said it was $40 extra. The listing on the Air B&B said that breakfast was included. He did have apples, peaches and coffee but it is very misleading for the price of a one night stay. Also the street noise is excessive so bring ear plugs.
