Bought an engagement ring for my fiancé and had to bring it back to get it resized. I’ll start by saying the guy that works there. The only guy I’ve seen there I’m unsure his name but he is super nice. I have zero issues with him and he’s always been respectful and polite. We got it resized once and and was told a date it would be done called a “promise date”, the website showed it was still being shipped to the repair center the day before the promised date to get back to me was, and when my fiancé called that day because of what the app was showing to get an update she called and talked to some lady and the lady said she would call her back with an update. Half the day goes by and we get no call back so my fiancé calls back and the lady told her that it will be another week before it comes back very rudly that it’s a busy time of year. My fiancé was upset with that answer as the promise date was the next day and after a few words the ring was mysteriously done now and was shipped back on the promise day. We pick it up. All good now. A couple months go by and now a diamond falls out, so she goes down to the store to schedule a repair and once again, the guy that works there was fine, super nice and it gets sent out. The app showed still that it was being shipped to the facility so we call the store the day before the promise date again just to get an update. The lady calls me back this time and says that it’s being shipped back. So that was good news. So my fiancé calls on the promise date to see if it arrived yet and they said it in fact was there. So she goes to pick it up and the lady was telling the other co worker when she arrived “they always call, that’s why we never call them “ in a very rude way. That’s why 2 stars after being told that. Half those workers are just rude. Sorry for my fiancé being excited and loves her ring I purchased from here. I Can tell you I won’t be purchasing the wedding ring here.

The atmosphere is very unwelcoming. If I could give it a 0 rating, I would. My boyfriend and I walked into the store to fix my engagement ring size but all the sales representatives seem to be not welcoming us. There were probably 4 or 5 of them when we walked in to the store but none of them made us welcoming. The way they looked at us is with a judgmental eyes. Is it because our ring was not a 10K ring? Or is it because the way we casually dress? I’m not sure! For me, that is very disrespectful to being treated a silent treatment especially when the ring meant to be a happy moment of two people who decided to spend their lives together. No earthly material can ever compare the love that people have from one another. They shouldn’t be judgmental on how cheap or expensive the ring has to be on the engagement or wedding ring. That is not their call or to judge!! It is up to the two people and you are not in their shoes or know their circumstances to make that judgment. If that ring was not my engagement ring, I would return it right at that moment. I am just sad that my engagement ring will now be part of this bad experienced that I don’t want to remember whenever I look at this ring because of the untrained and unprofessional employees. Again, I can’t exactly recalled but when we walked in there were probably 4 or 5 employees but non of them say “congratulations.” Not that we would expect that from them but I think it’s safe to call it to have a good manners especially when you know that two young people got engaged with the ring from your store. And no they are not busy because there are no customers. Not recommending this New Hartford store if you’re looking for engagement or wedding ring because you will have that bad memories carry along with ring because of the unprofessional employees. No one deserves this especially when the ring was supposed to mean everything!!

Horrible return policy. If you pay cash for something you have to wait to get your money back and it will be in the form of a check. I didn’t pay with a check. Kay’s didn’t have to wait for their money but I have to wait to get my money back. Horrible. Will never do business there again

My daughters and I had an excellent experience at Kay Jewelers. Not only do they have a beautiful selection of jewelry, the staff were so helpful and friendly. We did not feel pressured like the competitive stores. We truly appreciate the special treatment that we received. I highly recommend shopping at Kay, we will definitely be returning customers!

TAKE THIS HOW YOU WILL, BAD REVIEW OR JUST BEING HONEST!1. Buy our wedding rings from Kay Jewelers.2. Get married and take them back to be engraved.3. Wait an extensive period of time and call Kay's after no call or email. Call store your ring is in. My wife goes in waits 45 minutes as they were busy with only 2 employees. Gets ring doesn't get asked to check it and brings it to me. First thing I notice is wrong date in it and our initials are not in it. We go back to the store and wait in line 20 minutes. Girls says ohhh we tried calling you and it sounded like calling a fax machine. Says number woman called is wrong. I ask what number do you have on file? The number on file was right. She goes onto say we wanted to let you know it came in with the wrong date. Now I start to get heated, so if you knew it had the wrong date why did you just let my wife leave with it w/o saying something? All the women could say was sorry, we can send it back out. My wife also sends hers to be engraved.4. After a couple weeks my ring comes back, right date and no initials. I said forget it just leave it the way it is. My wifes came back days later after mine and was the way she wanted it.5. My wife decides she wants to add a 2nd wedding band, resize by 1/2 a ring size and have all 3 soldered together. Her rings are sent out.6. Her rings come back and look beautiful all put together. She looks inside and all engravings are gone. Sales person says we can send it back out to be re-engraved. At this point we both said no in fear of how they will come back. Sales person says if we speak to the manager she may be able to offer a discount on a future purchase. ? future purchase?? You guys can't get the current purchase we made correct. Now waiting to hear back from the corporate office.P.S. Dominick, the only one I will deal with in store from this point on has been very understanding! The manager Stacy, realizing there was nothing she could do after talking to my wife and I and Dominick and I stating I did report it to corporate, she makes a silent get away to the back room and never returned leaving us talking to Dominick. Waiting on corporate to reach back out after being told they would between 24 and 48 hours. After that time has past I called corporate back and was told sorry for the miscommunication but it will take 7 to 10 business days before your case is assigned to someone. So hear I wait!

My fiancé and I went to the new Hartford New York location yesterday . The store manager was very rude and I believe she needs customer service training .. I had made an appointment to fix a stone in my engagement ring because it fell out . The woman just took my ring and told me it will be ready on sept 20th I told her my wedding was sept 2 and I needed it before then . She rudely responded with with “ well don’t you think that’s something I’m supposed to know “ she didn’t explain the process to us or anything . How were we supposed to know it needed to be shipped out and this not be corrected in store there and then . She shouldn’t have responded that way , again extremely rude and accusatory language . I then called today and she didn’t even apologize when I told her she was very rude and that she needed to explain the process . She had a care free attitude and didn’t seem apologetic at all .

I got a Mother’s Day ring and the ruby was pink in color after a wk stone fell out and when ring was purchased no mention of synthetic stone vs genuine stone .why in pic did they show a different color than what I received I think it is misleading and especially with no rtn policy … and lady his rude and uninformative and not wanting to help or look into it and further.
