Dear Lidl Corporate Customer Relations Team,
Store location
2475 Jericho Tpke, New Hyde Park, NY 11040
I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding ongoing employee behavior and management practices at one of your store locations.
Although the store’s posted closing time is 9:00 PM, employees consistently begin rushing customers out as early as 8:40 PM. On multiple occasions, employees have used inappropriate hand gestures such as clapping and motioning “chop chop” to force customers to hurry and leave, even when the time is only 8:50 PM and the store is still officially open.
When customers ask why they are being treated this way, employees state that they are acting under the direct instructions of their manager, David. This behavior appears to be encouraged and enforced by management, not isolated to individual employees.
Additionally, customers are made to feel uncomfortable through hostile looks and remarks that appear discriminatory in nature. This creates a negative and unwelcoming shopping environment and reflects poorly on Lidl as a brand.
Because of these practices, the store is losing business and customer trust. Many customers, including myself, feel disrespected and rushed despite arriving during normal business hours.
As supporting evidence, I encourage corporate management to review the Google reviews for this store, where you will find multiple similar complaints regarding management behavior and customer treatment.
I respectfully request that Lidl corporate management investigate this matter and take appropriate corrective action to ensure customers are treated with respect until the official closing time.

Walked in 10 mins before they closed and there was no announcements that they were closing. There was some rude caucasian cashier screaming at me to check out. At one point I had to yell back and said hold on I'm looking for my partner.
He ended up closing his register and the manager who was also pretty rude also had to log back on to check me out. I spoke to the manager and told him that the cashier had no business shouting at me like that but he was not willing to help.
Absolutely do not recommend this store, the one in Glen Oaks is way better, cleaner and open later.
Have not experienced this level of disrespect in a while.
If you're closing , announce it as other shoppers were still in the store and don't be pricks about it.
If someone from upper management reads this - this happened on friday night jan 2nd 2026.

Price is very reasonable.
The only thing is cashier line most of the times are only 1-2 .. hence checkout is slow.
Quality of food is very good

Very bad place, dirty, mold in foods. Pricing on meat is never accurate. They up prices at cash register. Chicken had a price on it and they stated at register the sticker did not belong on that chicken. Although they are the only ones that price things. Employees rude, not helpful. Never going back! If I could give 0 starts I would.

I just went to this store tonight at 7:12 pm to purchase a few things quick. The cashier, Renee, verbally assaulted me because I told her i saw she was not charging the person ahead of me for some items. She started going off on me. I told her I saw the digital display tally and she told me to mind my business! The display showed 1X for the items that should have been 8X and 2X etc. She then called me a racist and said other nasty things to me. She should be terminated for talking to a customer like that, and also for cheating Lidl. I wish i had a video of the whole ordeal.

African American,woman at the casher so rude she not happy to work in this place every customer go trough her today she give attitude,she mad at me because I was putting my grocery on cart she keep asking for my card so I told her give me a sec.she so mad,then I ask about my qcode if she need it she get mad again why I didn't do it,I was waiting for her to tell me she behind the counter how do I know..please lady if you work with this environment just be nice to all customer, or please just pray to give you patient,not all customer are good with multi tasking,hopefully next time I won't see you to bad I come this place almost everyday.

Only complaint is they do not know how to cut cold cuts especially cheese. Use spacers the cheese is to hard to pull apart and always seems wet.

I just want to tell people, there are so many snacks they sell will expired next month that’s the reason they sell cheap,as I know some snacks will expire next month if I buy from wholesalers, the price will be ten times lower . And their customers service is so so. And if you buy bakery like bread, buy one get one free. But if you buy different price they will give you the second free for the lower price item . But they don’t write it . You will not know.
