Years ago, the department store pecking order, top to bottom, was Bloomingdale’s, followed by Macy’s, with JC Penny & Burlington & Marshalls at the bottom. Somehow, JC Penny is now on rung #2, with Macy’s (Backstage) happy to bring up the rear. Has the look and feel of a Marshall’s, long winding checkout line included. What a letdown. Plus they have signs taped all over the store to remind shoppers that ‘Farther’s Day’ is around the corner. How embarrassing. For them.
